A: While Dog-E has touch sensors and buttons, it doesn’t respond to verbal commands. It can however be connected to its companion app, which is available in the following languages: English, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Dog-E doesn’t respond to verbal commands, only commands in the app.

A: Most of Dog-E's features can be enjoyed without the app. You can mint your Dog-E to reveal its colors, save multiple Dog-E profiles, check in on needs and care for your Dog-E, play with Dog-E's bone toy, play games and more without the app. Downloading the Dog-E app with a phone or tablet levels up your Dog-E experience with more fun ways to play. The Dog-E App is required to give Dog-E a name, teach Dog-E tricks, write messages in Dog-E’s tail, draw pictures in Dog-E’s tail, control Dog-E in Command Mode, play the flea flicking game when Dog-E is sick and throw Dog-E treats. The Dog-E app is available for both Apple iOS and Android devices. Works with most iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices with iOS 12.0 and later. The dog is cute and you can kinda play with it without the app... However, the reason I got it was for the app compatibility... Well, it's a year later and I'm still waiting on the update for the app to work with newer Droids. It never came out.

My kids kept asking for a dog so I bought this robot dog and it’s so fun! We hooked up the app of their iPad and they named their dog and he does all kind of games and tricks. The only thing I would change is that I wish the dog would walk around more without having to use the iPad to make it do things.

I got this for my 7 year old for Christmas. I knew it was going to be a hit when I saw the doghouse packaging! My son loves it but I may love it more. This toy acts like a puppy, but has an off switch. The amount of games and features this toy has really surprised me. Definitely worth the price.

Dog-E requires a firmware update in order to be compatible with devices running the new Android 14 operating system. When attempting to pair Dog-E with an Android 14 device, you will receive a message to that effect. You will need temporary access to a device that is compatible with Dog-E (either running iOS or a compatible version of Android) to install this one-time update. Once firmware is updated, Dog-E will be able to connect to Android 14 devices. We are doing our best to make this solution as straightforward as possible for all who are affected.

Does not work with Android 14. Purchased a phone with Android 12 just to use with Dog-E and cannot get the app for it on that device. My husband messaged the maker of Dog-E to see if an update would be available to use it with Android 14 and they never responded. Waste of money. Would not recommend.
