A: Hello Kathy, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Omni-glide is a much smaller, more compact machine than the V8 and it doesn't have the same suction or run time that the V8 would offer. Bought this about a month ago and hands down the best vacuum I own. I mean all four of my vacuums are Dyson this one is just my favourite. Use on the main level of my house for daily cleaning. Love how the head spins and takes on any corner. Also very good on the lie pile rugs in my kitchen. Attachments help me clean high up and the battery last for my entire clean. Lightweight and filter easy to clean. Buy it!

I've had mine for almost a year. It's lightweight, and tucks into the corner of the master bedroom. I love that I can whip it out to do the cat-hair tumbleweeds and dust under the bed, daily, if needed, in less than a minute. I'm usually having enough fun with it that I go up and back on the hardwood floor in the hallway. Dirt cup empties easily, and it's tucked into the charger for next time. Plenty of suction on the regular speed, and even more on high that I can use to suck up a bug, or kitty litter. An added bonus is how lightweight this unit is. I can easily vacuum the stairs using only one hand while holding on to the railing with the other.

Recently bought. Great little vacuum for our new Oak wood floors - light to carry, quick and effective, gentle on the wood, easy to manoeuvre - we just love it. Lasts around 20 minutes so I can get the whole of my downstairs done in time. It does have a very small bin - but if you are just vacuuming a hard floor there is less dust than a carpet so it works well in my opinion. Really don’t understand why Dyson didn’t sell this product anymore!

Love, Love, Love it! I have dark wood floors and a short haired dog that sheds a lot. Between that and my husband playing with him there is always hair and fuzz on the floor. I have been at my wits end dealing with this until I bought the Dyson Omni-glide. I am so thankful and it is lightweight too!

I bought this about a month ago and love it. We have two cats and laminate flooring in a large house. This makes a quick cleanup including large staircase very easy and quick. My only complaint was it doesn't have a headlight. So I bought a rechargeable headlight and mounted it on the base now it's a perfect machine

The Dyson Omni-glide was a Christmas gift from my oldest son and his wife. I now enjoy vacuuming those hard to get places, and it is so quick and easy to grab it and clean up a few crumbs. No more unwinding and rewinding a cord to vacuum for 5 minutes. Cleaning is a lot more fun with my Dyson Omni-glide!

This is a good product for hard surfaces. The key feature is the counter-rotating brushes which pull in and trap dust and debris particles into the central area for the vacuum to capture. A side feature of this mechanism is that it can work in any direction. So even thought the head is somewhat narrow, one is doing twice the work because of the dual directionality of the vacuum. A benefit to the Dyson design is that there is no dirt being slung around the floor. There is nothing worse than a brush in only one direction which will always throw dirt to the opposite side where it slips past the vacuum suction. The user is always having to chase down the loose dirt and go around the floor until all dirt is captured. The Omni-glide solves this problem. The dirt bin release is fairly easy to operate. However, like a lot of similar designs, there are two problems. One is that the dirt does not always continue to move around the container but often gets stuck in one position. The other is that the dirt may not all dump out of the bin but hang up on the mechanism. Hair and other fibers are especially prone to get caught this way and required hand assistance to facilitate removal. Overall, this is as good as I have seen in flat-floor vacuums.

I bought this for my caravan, I liked the idea of the double rollers for capturing larger particles and sand. the larger bits is something my V10 just flicks around the floor. not this little beauty. It is so manoeuvrable and just the right size.I like that the battery is easy to remove, my only negative ist the diameter of the handle and that the handle is weighty as it holds the battery. if you had any hand issues it may be a problem. bonus was getting it 1/2 price otherwise would not have bought it.
