  • A: Hello Nikki. The WF-4830 can print on card stock. However, the thickest paper we have tested on the machine is Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy, which weighs 79 lb. For cardstock, we have tested similar Epson paper that weighs around 44 lb. Please be aware that these recommendations are for Epson paper only. Q: Will this All-in-One still continue to scan documents to email even if there is no ink remaining for printing? Or, will it simply stop operating until the ink supply is replenished?

    Do NOT waste your money. It will grabs multiple pieces of paper when printing and scanning. It will print wifi from my computer, but will only connect to scan 10% of the time. I have used a dehumidifier thinking perhaps the paper issue was due to moisture in the air. It is not. Big waste of money for this.

    Hi Msbim, Epson printers contain a permanent print head that must be charged with all colors to work. Even when you are printing only black text, a small amount of color ink is used to keep air bubbles from entering. Air bubbles can damage the print head.     I like this printer but this is my 2nd WF4830 and this is the second time the printer paper feeder has made this printer unusable in the 2nd year of ownership after the warrantly has expired. This is extremely annoying. I like Epson but if their printers only last 2 years, I am thinking I need to switch to a different brand.

    Wifi worked for a week or so then stopped connecting to the router. I switched to a wired connection. That worked for a couple more weeks then stopped. My wife and I shared the printer. So from then on we would have to move our laptops so we could connect directly to the printer, printer, then move our laptops back to our desks. Ridiculously cumbersome. Ridiculously poor quality printer.

    I bought this printer based on the positive review by PC Magazine. What a mistake! From day one, I have experienced constant jams when resetting printing functions and the easy task of changing from letter size to envelope printing. I found the settings difficult to manually change, resulting in paper jams and getting stuck in the printer queue. I also have a consistent issue replenishing the printer with new paper and not being recognized after loading.

    I purchaed this printer in January or February of 2024. It's been 9 to 10 months. I received a message for an update but ignored it for some time because I saw someone saying it wouldn't work after they updated it. I saw the review after I purchased it. There came a time where It stopped letting me do anything until I update it so I had no choice. Once theb update was complete the scanner stopped working! I emailed support 2 days ago and have heard nothing. I'm still under warranty. Who would ok an update that removes the scanner?! I've tried everything on the internet and nothing is working. I use this printer for work. I see that I will have to purchase another printer. It will definatly NOT need an Epson. This is unacceptable.

    Worst Printer in 18 years of business.

    If I could give it zero stars I would. This is the worst printer I have ever had. I used to purchase Epson printers 18 years ago for my business. They always had superior color and printing quality. I was forced to purchase an HP because Epson became to expensive for the amount of ink used as well as printers. However, after my last HP crapped out on me, I purchased another Epson. The price was good and ink prices were cheaper. What a mistake! I purchased it in September of last year and now it won't even turn on. Before the fact that it stopped working altogether, it was slow. It was slow to communicate with my MAC, it was slow to print. Sometimes taking as long as 5 minutes to print 1 single paper. The paper would jam all the time. I was constantly having to mess with it to get the paper unstuck. Then one morning..poof...it didn't want to print at all. So I turned it off and back on and now it just shows the Epson logo and 3 little dots and then turns itself off. I've unplugged it, I've tried to hold buttons down etc., but it is just useless. Unless Epson replaces this unit for free, I will never purchase another Epson printer...ever.

    I bought this for our small business, it works part of the time but not all the time. It jams alot, does not print business cards and constantly loses connection with computers. Most days, I just want to throw it out the window. I would not recommend.

    I've bought this printer for a mobile notary business because it has 1. dual trays and 2. prints on legal paper. I've used this once so far and while it scans faster than my HP that I've been using, it does NOT have a tray large enough to hold legal paper so I could NOT print the documents I needed on legal paper. I was able to get them printed on another machine. I printed the letter size papers on this machine and had several issues with paper getting jammed or feeding multiple blank pages through out the document. I tried to connect the machine to my laptop in my car to scan documents once they were signed and it wouldn't scan directly to my laptop. I'm going to do more research on this machine this week but if I can't get it to scan without wifi then it will be returned.

    Firmware Update Caused Ink Cartridges to Be Unrecognized

    I recently updated the firmware on my printer, and now the ink cartridges are no longer recognized. They were working perfectly fine before the update, but afterward, the printer stopped accepting them.

    Like some other reviews, it prints "GET / eSCL/scannerstatus HTTP/1.1" on a page, the page stays in the printer. I have to print a page and then print what I want to. I'm using twice the paper each time I print. Was hoping it would be fixed withe a firmware update but that didn't fix it. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but for some reason I cant uninstall it. It will probably end up in my dumpster soon
