Q: How do you change battery when needed? My lantern came with batteries installed, so it turns on when switched.....But it doesn't seem to open - so how are batteries replaced? No directions included

A: Open the flashlight by unscrewing the face of the light.

Q: There are no batteries included. I tried to put my own 4 or 8 D batteries ($15.00 worth) in and the top wont close now. There are no instructions to list what size it even takes. Any help?

A: The flashlight will work with 2 D batteries. It can accommodate 4 D batteries for increased hours of use. When you screw the face of the light back on, the line on the light and the line on the black face must line up. It should screw on and off easily.

A: Yes that is the 6V battery for the flashlight, after you purchase it you remove it from the bottom and insert it into the flashlight.

A: Two D batteries are included. They are already installed when you purchase. Light can accommodate up to four D batteries for increased hours/linger trip.

Q: Like everyone else, mine came with two batteries loosley taped to the outside. The top screws off, but the battery slot is too deep for just one battery on each side. Four and the lid won't close.

The items comes with batteries that do not fit, or at the very least you need to buy more. However, if you buy two more then they do not fit in the lantern. It lists you can use 2 or 4, but quite clearly you need 4. I bought this to have in case of emergency so too late to return, but save your money. You'd do better with a match.

Unclear instructions but hopefully I can help someone else. With a bit of trial and error, if you receive the AA adapters with the AA batteries, put both batteries positive side up in each adapter and stack the adapters on top of one another on one side.

Came with AA batteries inside of plastic holders the size of D batteries. Tried stacking them in every possible position and it will not turn on. Another reviewer mentioned reading instructions but it doesn’t come with any instructions.

I was searching for a "Lantern Battery 9V" and saw this flashlight/lantern for the same price as one battery. It came with 2 D cell batteries - so not what I was expecting and it doesn't seem very bright, either. I can use it, but certainly would NOT order it again.

I feel better after reading other comments. No instructions on being able to use 2 or 4 batteries. Only comes with 2 which had me confused in my old age. I should not have to go to Youtube to figure out how to put batteries in a lantern. You can put the batteries one on top of the other in the the one battery section. It does work with just 2 and for me the beam is fine as it is just for hurricanes. The lid is tempermental when you put it on. The price was right though.

At first I struggled and like everyone thought four batteries was necessary. The pic's and reviews by others helped me out. Like stated you need to put the two batteries on the side of the wire. Make sure the battery points are both facing up. It took me a while to get it all straight but yes, it does work with only two batteries. I had one before and now I know I can simply replace the batteries.
