[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a kid I have always had that curiosity of how rocks get so shiny. I have seen rock tumblers but never in person. When I was sent this kids rock tumbler I used it for my daughters science lesson for her preschool lessons. She got a kick out of it and how the rocks looked afterwards. It the eyes of a child, it took so long but the outcome was amazing. Overall it was easy to use but it was a little loud. It makes sense since it tumbles rocks. We thought it was an awesome toy but requires alots of patience.
A great introductory tumbler for children

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I couldn’t believe that FAO Schwarz has a professional rock tumbler! As an educator, I was very excited to try it. Upon opening it, I knew for sure it would be a great, age-appropriate introduction into how rocks are polished into gems. I would recommend a better tumbler for an older or maturer child though. It certainly is a slower, less efficient children’s toy. My other concern about this product is how difficult it was to open the container itself. I had to fight to get to the inside.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This whole product was pretty amazing. It came with all the grits to do the rocks inside the tumbler. It takes a good while to complete the rock tumbling process. Rinse. Tumble for anywhere between 3-5 or 7-10 days for each step. There's 4 or 5 steps. I'm currently on the 2nd to last step and have 3 more days. Plus, another 7 for the last step. For such a little tumbler, it's mighty. It also came with real modeling clay. Extra band for your pulley system. The jar is hard to open after untwisting the top if you don't know to pry it up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rock tumbler did a great job! I have used several, as the partner and I love to tumble our own rocks... this was simple to use, and was very durable, especially running for weeks on end. I did need to tighten the main screw for the motorized wheel, it was creating problems with tension. In the beginning it was pretty noisy till I tighten the screw. the rock assortment was pretty stellar, along with the extra clay and tools. Definitely a great gift for anyone at any age.
Great for rock loving kiddos

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was wonderful for my almost 6 year old who loves rocks!!! It was safe for her to use with supervision and seemed so durable. The clay to create projects made it even better!!! It was a little noisy but nothing compared to other ones I've used!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always thought rock tumblers were so neat and quite educational too! Even as an adult, I was so excited to give this a try. It was fun at first...but unfortunately short lived. Out of the box...this is pretty easy to set up and get started. The lid of the container is really hard to get on and off but that's fine as it seals tightly. It comes with a nice variety of rocks too! Anyway, got this started and it was working amazingly (aside from tidbits of rubber that wears off the canister/rollers)! Super powerful little machine. It is loud..so I recommend putting it somewhere carpeted. I also recommend leaving it on the floor as it does wiggle around. I got through step 3 without without much issue...though I did notice that the machine slowed down a bit. Trying to start the final step (4) was a disaster from the start. Set it up just like the previous 3 steps...put it on the tumbler....and it was slow again. After about 10 minutes...it stopped. I tried cleaning it out really well and plugging it in again...started slow and stopped. I even tried changing the gear band as it looked like the current one had some wear on it. It wouldn't even turn at all with the new band. Put the old one back on....turned until I put the rock canister on it....then stopped. So here I am...stuck with partially tumbled rocks and no way to finish the 7-10 day polish cycle. Now what?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was exciting. I loved the easy directions to set up the machine. Found some rocks, threw them in there, and they cleared up well. I think it doesn’t do amazing just because it’s ultimately made for kids, but i was happy to see how easy it is for kids to use. It doesn’t make too much noise and it works on completing the task continuously.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very cool toy. I love that all the mixes and supplies you need are in the box. It was quite loud and it may not be the best toy for impatient kids. I threw in some of my own rocks and am looking forward to see how they come out!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rock tumbler kit has helped bring out my nephew’s creative side. Great creating stones and jewelry out of rocks. It’s a good choice for kids who are curious and need new activities besides video games or tv. Noise level is low, very easy to clean, and safe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such a fun toy! It’s a great product & seems well made and very much a real rock tumbler. My kids loved setting it up & checking on our rocks. They can’t wait to tumble rocks we find at the lake & other things too, they want to make their own “sea glass”. It is a bit noisy so we have it in our guest room - the first tumble takes 3-5 days (running 24/7) and if you want to keep going it can go for two more weeks..!! So kids need to be patient, the set up is quick & then it tumbles for a loooong time but it’s worth it In the end. It seems very safe though & couldn’t be easier to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids were ecstatic when I opened up the box and they saw what they got to try and test out for this review. The noise level is not too loud. Durability is great. The safety features are pretty amazing in the assembly process was not that hard at all. The versatility for all the rocks is really great too. My kids are going to have great fun with this this summer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is 4 and obsessed with rocks so this has been such a fun experiment for us. Getting everything set up and ready to go definitely took an adult but it was easy enough. We set it up in the kitchen to get it all figured out and the noise isn’t as loud as I thought but we moved it to the garage since the rocks have to tumble for 3-5 days. Honestly, such a cute fun toy that has some educational proponents to it, big fan!
