Q: Can this be used to heat sugar water up to 118 degrees C?

This Farberware Classic Series Melting Pot Butter Warmer provides a full cap base featuring a thick aluminum core surrounded by stainless steel which provides rapid, even heating. Although this pot is able to withstand the temperature of 118 degrees C, we would not advise it since it can overheat the product if kept at this temperature for an extended period of time. We would recommend temperatures ranging around 100 degrees C.
