[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Electonic beat box as my daughter’s 6 year present.it is a 6inch* 6 inch* 1 inch almost square rectangular box. Although, it says try me on packaging but none of buttons were working. So it was a bummer opening the whole packaging just to try. Otherwise satisfactory product.

This toy is legit fun! You can actually create decent beats and is a great first step for younger kids interested in beats and music.

It has different modes that you can play, from a Simon-like game where you copy the lights to keep the music going, as well as independently creating music with the pre-recorded sounds. The defaults beats that it comes with for various music styles (bossa nova, hip hop, techno, etc.) are pretty catchy too. I tried it out with my son, who is 6 years old, and he has fun with it. He's not quite there with composing his own beats, but he loves dancing to the techno beat.

It was both challenging enough for my son, as it has 4 different settings, and simple enough for my daughter to enjoy as well creating "songs". My favorite setting is the fact that you can use headphones so that only the child can hear the device.

The sounds when you push the buttons and clear, rich and full sounding. I love that you can push two at the same time and they both make noise. We also love the recording feature and that it lets you overlap recordings. Great for a budding DJ. The headphone feature is also really nice so my kids can play and I can enjoy some peace and quiet.
