Q: Why does the blender leak the liquid by the blades. 4 blenders all same problem?

A: Sometimes blenders leak because a piece might have fallen off.

Q: Can you clean the blade? A review I read said there was mold on bottom of blade and they couldn't reach it. Thanks.

A: Unfortunately, the blade is in the drinking cup, the only way to get it really clean is in the dishwasher... handwashing could be dangerous!

submitted byHamiltonBeachTeam - 5 years agoBrand expertA: From a chef's perspective in case you do not have a dishwasher, one way to clean it would be to insert dish soap and little warm (not hot) water. Turn it on to distribute the soapy water around the blades. Pour it out and continue to wash until one's own liking. Best to do this after every use to prevent the build-up of mold or bacteria.

A: Thank you for your question. The height of the blending jar featured with this Hamilton Beach Single Serve Blender is 6.75 inches. This blender jar is dishwasher safe. We do not recommend that the noted part is cleaned using the "Sani" cycle.

It did it's job -- eventually, as I'd have to shake it to get stuff all the way down to the blades. It wasn't a one and done kind of deal. But I just went to use it again, and the blade housing completely came apart, with milk and fruit leaking everywhere into the motor unit. Has to go straight to the trash. It was an ok year or so while it lasted. Won't be buying this brand again.

It’s not powerful enough to use with frozen fruit, I can’t imagine ice cubes would do well either. I initially bought it for smoothies but it doesn’t handle them well. I can smell the motor heating up after about 20 seconds of blending. The cup also started leaking after some use. It’s fine for soft fruits or veggies, but that’s about it.

Never got to use item. Arrived from Target with shipping box in tact but item box damaged and also taped shut. Cup inside was cracked. Clearly this item had been previously purchased and returned due to the damage, yet Target shipped it out to another customer. I returned at the store, but was not refunded the Target circle rewards I had used toward my order. Makes me question the condition of gifts I have sent directly to friends from Target. They clearly go ahead and try to resell returned, damaged merchandise.

Works great, but not with frozen items. If you put ice in, it’s okay, but frozen fruit doesn’t blend. However, we’ve had a free different kinds and this one is small, which, and does the job with the correct ingredients.
