The Target edition of the Game of Life offers a fun twist on the classic game, allowing guests to enjoy a shopping experience while managing a budget. With adorable game pieces and a vibrant design, it engages players in a unique way. However, the game can be complicated with many components and unclear instructions, which may lead to confusion during play. Overall, it provides a delightful family game night option, especially for fans of Target.

Way too complicated for kids. The only thing I learned was going to target is frustrating and makes you go broke. Not fun at all. Too many rules.

Too complicated for kids. More confusing than interesting. Blatant marketing ploy. Play pieces are way too tiny and I bet you 60% of the folks that will actually play this game will need readers or magnifying glasses to play. I say this as a 39 year old with glasses. The Game of Life is one of my favorite board games, but this particular version was a massive disappointment.

We are frequent Target shoppers so it was cool to get a special edition game at such a great sale price. We haven’t gotten a chance to play a full game, but we enjoyed the short time we played when we first got it. I would recommend setting aside time to remove and sort the game pieces beforehand. There are quite a few small chips that need to be removed from the cardboard. We used plastic containers from Dollar Tree and Amazon to organize them.

Bought this game for obvious reasons - we love Target and enjoy playing the game of Life. My daughters and I have played it mulitple times in the past few weeks since buying it. It's basic enough to figure out quickly but there are a few ways to bring some strategy to it as well. We did change out the markers that are including to keep track of your budget, to paperclips instead. They stay put, unlike the game provided markers. It's made us think twice about impulse buys at Target...maybe we should only be able to buy 4 impulse purchases each Target run like the game instructs. :)

Waaaay too long to set up 50 tiny cardboard pieces. The entire thing is overly complicated. Not like a fun Target run at all! Very Disappointed. Took forever to set up. Directions were confusing and not fun to play. Everyone eventually quit. Players were kids, adults and grands. Everyone was so disappointed. The original life game is more fun.

This is a really frustrating and overly complicated game because the rules are vague. There was at least one token in which we had no idea how to use because it doesn’t say anything about how to earn or use them in the rules. There is also no clear starting location, so we just all agreed on where to start. There are tons of tiny little tokens that are annoying to keep track of and are sure to get lost easily. Overall I did not enjoy any part of this game. It was poorly designed.

Just received the wrong version I ordered the regular life because my granddaughter wants the version with gamer and vlogger as careers. Target refunded me the price and told me no need to return I donated it to the church in the neighborhood that gives out toys for kids. I'm sure whoever receives it will be thankful and grateful. I can't give a better rating as I gave it away but looks like a good game .

PRO: Super FUN to pretend you are managing a budget a shopping list at trendy Target! As always, excellent durable quality from this toy brand. Full game board size - folded in half! - not folded in quarters (yes it saves space but the creases are annoying). CON: ALOT of pre-game learning is required. This cannot be skipped bc it is much more involved than the normal LIFE version. 3 stars on age appeal bc of the lengthy learning time in order to play. 3 stars on length of play bc it can be too long of a time for younger elementary age players.

We received this as a gift and played last night. Absolutely loved it! Instead of collecting children and life tiles you get to run around target collecting the items on your shopping list. But watch out for those impulse buys! Such a cute design and lead to many jokes and fun moments reminiscing about our real-life target runs.

Overly complicated, poorly designed. The game has a ton of pieces that take quite a while to sort and set up on the board. Then each player receives a card that tracks their budget and you are supposed to track every time you earn money on the card. This is a terrible design because the token got bumped several times during play so we had no idea how much money we should be at. There are far too many elements to the game to keep up with. The directions do not make it clear on how certain parts of the game should go so we had to just make it up. Then when you complete your shopping order you go to check out-but the people who haven't checked outnyet or completed their shopping continue playing. This left several players just waiting while the last person had to basically play alone. I am so disappointed because I thought the game was going to be similar to the game of life. They are not the same at all.

This was really complicated and not a well executed, thought out game. Directions are pretty vague. There was plenty of times throughout playing that we had to decide on our own what to do because directions were not clear. I thought this would resemble the game of life more but it’s pretty different. We felt more annoyed than we did having fun playing it. Everyone dropped out of playing not too long in. The only one who seemed to enjoy it was my 7 year old but she didn’t really get what was going on lol.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oh my goodness, this is seriously one of the cutest games I’ve ever seen. So much thought and effort went into the design of this game - from the mini shopping cart game pieces, to the red card discounts, and actual red cards. My family really enjoyed this game. Lots of fun and entertainment. The only thing that would really top it off would be a register shaped calculator that can be used to total at the conclusion of the game.
