Q: Is there a way to turn off the light?
A: Light stays on while humidifier is working. Power button turns humidifier (and light) on/off.
submitted byfrequent Target shopper - 5 months agoA: The light can be mostly turned off. Press and hold the power button and the ring will no longer light up. It will still have a slight glow at the back section (so you know the unit isn’t powered off).
submitted byMags - 4 months agoA: Yes, there are two modes, vapor fully on and intermittent. Briefly pushing the button cycles through the modes, but if you push and hold the button when in one of the modes, the changing light will turn off while the vapor mode stays on.
submitted byAS - 4 months agoA: Follow the experts direction carefully. You can turn it off!
submitted byNubbs - 4 months agoA: product expert is not very expert apparently. No way to turn off the light unless you turn it off completely
submitted byCristina - 5 months agoA: Yes. Just press and hold the power button.

Q: Does this require a wick?
A: Yes it does. The instructions say do not operate without a wick. Not sure why brand expert said no
submitted byCher - 5 months agoA: Yes, it does require a wick filter. Comes with three. Wick filter works with regular tap water (filters out minerals in water, so distilled water not needed) and draws water up to come out as mist.
submitted byfrequent Target shopper - 5 months agoA: YES I just purchased. one and you DO need a wick! There are some included.
submitted byJo - 5 months agoA: Mine came with wicks
submitted byKathleen Jercha - 1 month agoA: No, it does not.

Q: Does this come with the charger? The two I brought didn’t come with one and both didn’t come with 3 wicks but with 2.
A: Mine came with 2 wicks in a bag and 1 preinstalled wick. Does that account for the 3 that is advertised to be in it? I’m going back to target to look inside some other boxes to determine if mines is missing one or not.
submitted byPlantmomma - 4 months agoA: Thank you for your question about the Homedics Portable Ultrasonic Humidifier! 1. Charger: This model typically does not include a separate charger. It usually comes with a USB cable, so you'll need to use your own USB power adapter to plug it into an outlet. 2. Wicks: The product is advertised to include 3 replacement wicks. If the units you purchased only came with 2 wicks, it might be a packaging oversight. We recommend contacting consumer relations or Target for assistance with this issue.

Q: what size wics are needeff
A: The Homedics Portable Ultrasonic Humidifier requires wick filters to operate effectively. According to the product details on Target's website, the humidifier uses a wick filter to draw water up, which is then emitted as mist. Replacement wicks compatible with this humidifier are available directly from Homedics. The replacement wicks measure 6.3 inches in length and 1.75 inches in depth.

Q: Why does this make such a horrible, high-pitched noise? It's causing my ears to ring really bad. We just turned it on 5 minutes ago.
A: A high-pitched noise from a Homedics Portable Ultrasonic Humidifier can be caused by several factors. Here are some possible reasons and troubleshooting steps: Possible Causes & Solutions: Ultrasonic Transducer Vibrations Ultrasonic humidifiers use high-frequency sound waves to create mist, and some units may emit a faint high-pitched noise. However, if it’s excessively loud, it may indicate a defect. Solution: Try placing the unit on a different surface. Hard surfaces can sometimes amplify vibrations. Low or Poor-Quality Water Mineral content in tap water can cause ultrasonic humidifiers to work harder, sometimes producing unusual noises. Solution: Try using distilled or filtered water instead of tap water. Resonance or Loose Components If something inside is loose, it may cause an abnormal whistling or whining sound. Solution: Ensure all parts are securely attached, including the water tank and any removable components. Defective Unit If the humidifier is brand new and making an unbearable noise, it could be a manufacturing defect. Solution: If the noise persists after trying the above steps, consider returning or exchanging the unit at Target.

Q: Can hot water be used?
A: For most Homedics Portable Ultrasonic Humidifiers, it is recommended to use cool or room-temperature water rather than hot water. Using hot water could potentially damage the ultrasonic components or reduce the effectiveness of the mist output.

Q: So one reply says do not leave plugged in all night, does that mean not leave it on the charger and in use all night? Understanding it will auto shut off
A: It's best not to leave the Homedics Portable Ultrasonic Humidifier plugged in all night, even if it has an auto shut-off feature. While the device is designed to turn off automatically when it runs out of water, keeping it plugged in continuously can cause unnecessary wear on the power components over time. If you’re using it overnight, make sure the water tank is full at bedtime, and unplug it in the morning when it’s no longer in use. This will help maintain the longevity of the humidifier and ensure safe usage.
