Q: Says “perforated”. Does that mean you don’t need scissors - can just tear off? (Don’t like those little black specks cutting with scissors leaves).

Q: So the prefilters look like they are in one big roll. Do you have to cut them? Like get a ruler, measure and cut? Are they lined or perforated? Is there anyway to get them already cut to fit?

not a good filter replacement option for someone with asthma. I don't know if it is the A filter or the R filter with the chemical smell--maybe it's both. I kept thinking smell would go away but it hasn't.

It’s ok, not great but not bad. For the cost, get the Levoit for the same price, it’s much better and more quiet. This model also requires very pricey filters that need changed often. I have this model and two Levoit’s in a home I keep well cleaned due to a spouse with serious allergies. This model needs a new filter almost monthly, the Levoit’s need a filter change every 6-12 months. The Levoit is far more effective in air purification, quieter, and doesn’t have the frequent added filter expense nearly as often. This Honeywell purifier is also on the bulky size.

The pre-filter is so thin its see through. Doesnt fit because it's so flimsy the clips won't even hold it in. Terrible quality!

Pre-filter has these specks of black particles coming off when I unrolled it. The quality of this is suboptimal to the original. This pre-filter is see through and not as thick and rigid as the original that came with my HPA300. I’m not interested in cutting this to make it fit my unit. I will be returning this because of the poor quality of the pre-filter. The two filters in the box is fine. I prefer pre-cut filters, if that exists.

Good price for filters. We bought this kit for the Honeywell Insight HPA5100 (for "medium-large rooms, 190 sq ft") which uses one HEPA filter "R" and one pre-filter "A" at a time, with recommended replacements after 12-month and 3-month intervals, respectively. For the HPA5100, this kit supplies enough filters for two years of use (two R and eight A) at the recommended rate of replacement. The paper template included in the kit is NOT useful for the HPA5100 model (sizes marked are for other models). The pre-filter roll is enough to cut out eight pre-filters for the HPA5100. Instead of using scissors, it was easier to use a utility knife with a homemade template to cut out the pre-filters on a flat workspace padded with spare cardboard. Cutting leaves powdery black filter material all over workspace; sweeping/vacuuming of surface afterwards is necessary. Pre-filter material seems to be thinner or less dense than the original pre-filter that came with the air purifier.

I have a large console type Honeywell air purifier. It takes 3 type R Hepa filters, replaced yearly, and a type A prefilter for every 3 months. It is difficult to find this item in stores in my area, and I found myself needing just 1 Hepa filter on short notice. Target had this item available for delivery in just a few days, and unlike another retailer, they are the true Honeywell filters. My only complaint is that the package only has 2 Hepa filters. It would be so much more convenient to buy enough for my purifier for the year.

It’s kinda weird that you have to cut the filters yourself, but it’s easy to do. My model wasn’t listed on the size chart though so I had to pull out my current filter to figure out the size. It was aligned to one of the pre-set sizes, but just wasn’t listed.

Would not have bought a Honeywell air purifier if I had known the pre-filters hard to get. Cut it yourself? Hard to get it to the right size. Not interested in doing arts and crafts. Left little black specks on my table. Also thinner than the ore-cut filters.

Quality of the black pre filter has changed is thinner and cheaper. It requires being cut and kit gives you enough for 2 and 1/2 the machine which is a waste unless you save the 2 half’s and Velcro them together which I do. Also the white filters use 3 kit has 2 another bummer should come with 3 white and 3 pre filters at this price. Shrug.

I bought my Dr's CHoice Air Purifier about 3 months ago, and I feel it's doing what I need it to do in my bedroom. I was having problems with allergies and dust. The dust isn't as bad but I run this thing all of the time. The light to change filter has not come on yet, but I just started looking at the replacement filters in anticipation. I became perplexed as I purchase quality air filters for home furnace that filters the entire house for less money than this one room. I'm just not sure I'm sold on this product because of the cost of the filter...this is how they get us : (

The black filter has to be cut to fit which surprised me and my unit uses 3 of the white filters and the bundle comes with 2 which also surprises me (I should have read the description closer).
