I've had this in my small apartment for just a day. I got it because I have asthma, but I am also a cat owner, so the allergist/asthma doctor recommended that I get an air purifier. The red/yellow/green light quality indicator responds immediately to a change in air quality if I start cooking (producing smoke) or cleaning (stirring up dust). However, I feel a suspicion that this model of air purifier was intended, designed and calibrated to detect and filter out stuff like smoke and pollution. Even though the advertising speaks about allergens like dust and put fur, I suspect that it was tacked onto the product name as a sort of branding afterthought, rather than carefully addressed by the designers/inventors of the product. It was just disappointing to realize that the quality sensor does an excellent job of alerting me to the presence of fumes from cooking an omelette on an electric stove... But something like that doesn't really feel worthy of a red light, does it? ...I suppose that when it becomes time to change the pre-filter, I will learn exactly how much fur it captured from the air (if any).

I have a couple of various HEPA air purifiers. In my experience, they all do the same function acting as an air dust particle vacuum. I like them for that purpose. My Honeywell air purifiers have been running non stop for around 3 to 4 years without any problems. Honeywell has a 5 year warranty (Levoit only has 2 yr). I also have a Levoit canister style air purifier. It does what it it is supposed to do, but there isn't a turbo feature like Honeywell has on their Insight models which I love to use after cleaning a room, or if there is any foul odor, or smoke. It power cleans your air. Levoit is more of a pain to quickly vacuum around the air cleaner filter since you must twist the canister lid off from bottom to pull out a dusty filter. Ita mess! Honeywell is EASY! Just pop the front screen off, and vacuum the front black pre-filter from time to time. This tip is not in the instructions, but Ive always done this to reducecas much dust build up as I can. I think it helps the filter run better, and it keeps everything much cleaner. One more benefit of getting the Honeywell Insight models is the EASY replacement HEPA or pre-filters. No need to twist any lid off the bottom canister. Simply remove the front screen (hassle free), pop filter(s) in, pop screen on, done! Levoit will take longer. Go with Honeywell! I want to buy another one of these Honeywell Insight air purifiers, specifically this HPA5200B. I like to wait for a sale since they do happen so, I'm stalking this one here to trap 😄 in my cart! It is a good one. I have two. Unfortunately it doesn't have any remote access smart controls. But it works better than Levoit. I really don't want Honeywell to mess with it. This has an ergonomic and great design for its purpose. Don't change a thing. It does the job.

I like this one because it has the air filter on top, so you can place it anywhere without worrying about blockage. I like the different setting ( air levels and color). The only negative is that it is quite loud since it is larger.

It is a nice looking piece of equipment and fits into the decor. We have had a noticeable decrease in dust. It runs all the time on low or higher if we are not in the room. It is quiet on low.. We vacuum the front carbon filter about weekly and the white filters as well. It is highly recommended.

I mean I turn it on and it works and everything but as far as purifying the air there is no way for me to determine if it actually does that. I like that it has different settings and an automatic one.

This has eliminated those smells. The noise isn’t bad at all and at night I turn it on high for extra noise. (I like sound at night!) I would 10/10 recommend this Honeywell product to anyone! I have to dust my room a lot and this air purifier has saved me so much time by trapping so much. It was a little overwhelming at first because it has so many cool functions, but it's pretty straight forward. The odor cleaning function was perfect after fourth of July because it got rid of all the smoke and BBQ smell

Also, since it is a bigger size air purifier it has purified the air in my room which is why I have replaced my old one with this one. The light is a plus. It's moderately quiet and doesn't take up too much space. It's well designed and sleek looking. My main reasons for using this are to help reduce smells after cooking aromatic food and to reduce allergens. It seems to be working. I'm looking forward to seeing if it helps during the next allergy season. Overall I'm pleased with this.
