Q: Why does this fan make a roaring noise

submitted by Ks - 8 years ago
  • A: This is not what you should expect from our fans. Please contact our consumer relations team by emailing us at SocialSupport@HelenofTroy.com and we will be happy to look into this. Thank you.

  • A: That's strange - this is the quietest fan I've ever purchased. It's mostly used as white noise at night and the "Calm" setting is perfect and subtle. Even the strongest setting "Cool" doesn't make a roaring noise for me. I suggest taking it back for a new one as it seems like a faulty order.

submitted byMarissaEO - 8 years ago
  • A: Sure wish I knew. It rumbles even on lowest setting

submitted byMAH - 8 years ago
  • A: Mine makes a funny noise like it’s hitting against something every time it turns . very annoying . sometimes it’s fine. Sometimes it’s not.

Q: How efficient is this fan if you have no central air conditioning?

submitted by MP - 2 years ago
  • A: NO. A fan moves air; an air conditioner conditions (changes) the air.

submitted byMsAdventure - 9 months ago
  • A: We appreciate your inquiry. This fan will circulate the air that is already in your room which will help you feel cooler, but it will not generate cooler air to lower the room's temperature. If you have any additional questions, please email us at SocialSupport@helenoftroy.com.

Q: is this easy to assemble?

This has been making noise since I got it 3 months ago and now it’s dying. It’s always made a rumbling sound when you turn it on and a screeching sound when you turn it off. Now it won’t work on any speed except for the highest, and even then it’s low and sounding like it’s dying. I’ve had a Honeywell tower fan for 5 years before so I’m very disappointed!

I run these all day every day for the entire summer and they have worked great! As a mom of littlest my favorite thing is the light goes off after a few seconds so you don’t have a bright light on in the room like some other digital type fans. Also, the remote is awesome too. Produces good air and I love that it’s slim so it doesn’t take up room Or an eye sore.

Even on the highest setting you have to be a few inches within it in order to feel any air flow. The remote is nice but does no good when the actual fan doesn’t work. Total waste of my money and would return it but I already threw out the box.

Do not fall for it… You will return it and regret it later. This fan started making noise across each of its five speeds to the point that we could no longer sleep. Dislike: The light only comes on when you turn the fan on, change settings, or turn off. The light then shuts off, and if you don’t pay attention, it is easy to walk away and the fan stays on until you remember it again. You have to check settings when you want to determine what level it is on. The light should be on when the fan is on. Like: the fan itself works fine. If you forget that it’s on, it may burn out or cause a fire.
