This is the worst sweeper I have ever bought! I've always relied on the Hoover brand but this sweeper is horrible. It's looses suction often. To empty the dirt out you have to also take the internal canister out which gets dirt everywhere and all over your hands because the dirt does not all drop out and it plugs up the hole, it does not pick any dirt along the sides of walls, it is very hard to detach the hose and reattach, the hose suction is not strong at all and the whole thing is a plastic piece of junk. I spent over $200 and have only had it 2 weeks and it is going out to the garbage. Do not buy this sweeper.

had less than a year and it got tied in hair around one the brush bearings that should not get hair caught on and melted that plastic coupling for the brush, broke several belts that I had to pay for even though i feel it should have been under warranty. Poor design, poor quality due to poor design, parts for repair are hard to find and you can only call customer support no email or chat

The roller is no longer rolling, and the vacuum itself does not provide proper suction…only the hose works. Given that this product should still be functioning as it did when I first bought it, I am quite frustrated with its decline in performance. Six months in and the roller stopped working. As others mentioned the roller is impossible to get to, unless you have special tools. It was pointless anyway as once the roller got stuck the plastic gears melted. What junk. And or course past return policy.

I had this vacuum for about six months with once a week use and the belt melted. I had to buy a special screwdriver to even access that part of the vacuum to see what happened as the Hoover team needed to see what happened. They sent a replacement and I was happy. Now about 6 months later that one is having the same issue. Vacuum is now useless. I'm very disappointed. Stay away!

The roller gears/bearing jammed, which looks to be a common problem with this vacuum. What really frustrates me is Hoover designed the vacuum to prevent owners from taking the bottom plate off to troubleshoot the roller. If your roller jams, you must take this vacuum to a repair shop to get access to the roller. Save your money and buy a vacuum with a removable roller cover plate.

It was ok while it lasted. But after just one year the pulley that the belt spins on completely melted and now the brush rolls don't spin. Taking the vacuum apart to find the problem was a huge pain in and of itself because they used TAMPER RESISTANT TORX SCREWS. I had to order a special tool just to open the thing up. My old Hoover just had normal Philips head screws and was easy to take apart and service myself, but not this new one. Also, all the accessories don't stay clipped in while you are vacuuming. The attachments are constantly falling off while you are pushing the vacuum around.

The swivel feature is nice, but it doesn't have any sucking power. Even after going over my condo multiple times, it leaves behind a ridiculous amount of debris - it has one job & can't even do it.

This vaccum the brushroll is not reliable. The bearings seem to seize up inside the vaccum after using it less than four times. Waste of money. Also you cannot find replacement brushrolls.

Now I've only had this vacuum a week, but so far I'm impressed. The suction is very powerful, and I like that it's adjustable. The light on the front of the vacuum and the light on the crevice tool made it very easy to see and pick up areas I wouldn't normally think to spend extra time on. I really like the detachable handle and wand. Two small things could make it the perfect vacuum: retractable cord, and the attachments could have been placed better on the vacuum. Overall, I like it a lot. I hope it continues to run well. I'll try to remember to update at a later date on how it keeps up. (One image is from just my living room, the other is from 2 bedrooms and hallway. Yikes!)

So disappointed in this vacuum especially for the price. It is so bulky and hard to maneuver around furniture. The hose that unattaches is so difficult to push back in. The vacuum had absolutely no suction. I would give it 0 stars if I could!

This machine was less than months old when the belt broke. Had to go to a local hoover repair shop to find one and then it was a special order that took two weeks to arrive. Now, maybe a year old, the brush has seized. Guess what hoover doesn't sell on this site? So if I can't figure out why it's seized I get to hunt down another brush. This was not a cheap vacuum, there's no excuses for this cheap design. My last Hoover lasted 25 years, I don't see this one being around for it's second birthday. If I wanted to fix something every six months I would have kept my old one.

I bought this 7 months ago for our new home. At first I loved it. It was a little heavy for me to push since I'm recovering from surgery and my house is huge. But my husband and I took turns. I was using the wand attachment and the suction turned off but the lights were still on. Later my husband tried again and it worked. Now it's doing it again. Nothing is made like it used to be anymore. Always wasting my money!

We have been very happy with Hoover vacuums in the past, but this one is a loser! It has very little power and does not pick up dirt on the first sweep or even the 10th. There is very little in the dirt bin and hair gets tangled in the upper part of the bin. You cannot tell when you have vacuumed a floor because it does not pick up sock fuzz, cookie crumbs, or even leave a vacuum trail that makes the carpet look like it has been swept. Very disappointed and unlikely to buy another Hoover.

I adored this vacuum, the nicest one I've ever had. The suction was amazing, very powerful, and easy to push around. A vacuum is a vacuum so I don't care about clunkiness, I actually thought it was very streamlined. However less than a year later the belt broke and I am having to send Hoover an email begging for details on how and where to get a replacement belt. It seems like a lot of other reviewers are having the same issues and I'm really hoping they make replacement belts for it now otherwise I will have to buy a whole new vacuum. If that is the case I will be EXTREMELY disappointed. How do you sell a vacuum but don't make replacement belts for it? HOW? By the way my belt says VEGA EPH-234.

I got the vacuum as a gift with no receipt. I only used a handful of times (maybe 5 in my small apartment) and had to dig hair out of the brush roller each time. The brush roller quit spinning and the belt burned up the last time I used it. Customer service would not replace or fix and a replacement belt is not able to be purchased. I took the head apart to find the tangle guard "no hair wrap" design had also melted a piece of plastic the brush roller sits on. Would not recommend the vacuum design or Hoover customer service.
