I bought this for its feature of turning of the brush roller/bar. I have new thick berber carpet which requires this. Sadly, this machine does not have enought suction to actually pick up the basic debree lying on the surface of the carpet. Also, it has the annoying feature of turning the brush bar if you lock it back in the upright position. This happens by accident fairly often.

This is the worst sweeper I have ever bought! I've always relied on the Hoover brand but this sweeper is horrible. It's looses suction often. To empty the dirt out you have to also take the internal canister out which gets dirt everywhere and all over your hands because the dirt does not all drop out and it plugs up the hole, it does not pick any dirt along the sides of walls, it is very hard to detach the hose and reattach, the hose suction is not strong at all and the whole thing is a plastic piece of junk. I spent over $200 and have only had it 2 weeks and it is going out to the garbage. Do not buy this sweeper.

had less than a year and it got tied in hair around one the brush bearings that should not get hair caught on and melted that plastic coupling for the brush, broke several belts that I had to pay for even though i feel it should have been under warranty. Poor design, poor quality due to poor design, parts for repair are hard to find and you can only call customer support no email or chat

This vacuum lasted less than 1 year, is a replacement for first one that lasted about 1 month. Will not allow warranty claim without a video of it not running! Belt smelled like burned rubber, so took it apart and took belt off, found the mail beater will not turn and nothing stuck in it. Was a pain to take apart as it uses special torx head screws. Called customer service and no warranty processing without a video of the vacuum, a total waste of my time. I will not ever buy another Hoover product again. Now have to find a different brand of vacuum that may last longer than a year. My old Hoover vacuum lasted for 15+ years until wearing out, new ones are terrible. Please look elsewhere for a vacuum so you don't have to go through what I did.

After looking at all the reviews which are the same exact problem I'm having it seems a complaint to the better business bureau might need to happen. My vacuum is a little over a year old and the roller isn't rolling! It was so good before all this. Very disappointed.

I had this vacuum for about six months with once a week use and the belt melted. I had to buy a special screwdriver to even access that part of the vacuum to see what happened as the Hoover team needed to see what happened. They sent a replacement and I was happy. Now about 6 months later that one is having the same issue. Vacuum is now useless. I'm very disappointed. Stay away!

Taking the vacuum apart to find the problem was a huge pain in and of itself because they used TAMPER RESISTANT TORX SCREWS. I had to order a special tool just to open the thing up. My old Hoover just had normal Philips head screws and was easy to take apart and service myself, but not this new one. Also, all the accessories don't stay clipped in while you are vacuuming. The attachments are constantly falling off while you are pushing the vacuum around.

The swivel feature is nice, but it doesn't have any sucking power. Even after going over my condo multiple times, it leaves behind a ridiculous amount of debris - it has one job & can't even do it.

Now, maybe a year old, the brush has seized. Guess what hoover doesn't sell on this site? So if I can't figure out why it's seized I get to hunt down another brush. This was not a cheap vacuum, there's no excuses for this cheap design. My last Hoover lasted 25 years, I don't see this one being around for it's second birthday. If I wanted to fix something every six months I would have kept my old one.

I was using the wand attachment and the suction turned off but the lights were still on. Later my husband tried again and it worked. Now it's doing it again. We have been very happy with Hoover vacuums in the past, but this one is a loser! It has very little power and does not pick up dirt on the first sweep or even the 10th. There is very little in the dirt bin and hair gets tangled in the upper part of the bin. You cannot tell when you have vacuumed a floor because it does not pick up sock fuzz, cookie crumbs, or even leave a vacuum trail that makes the carpet look like it has been swept. Very disappointed and unlikely to buy another Hoover.
