It did the job okay. Like others have said something about this makes you go into a coughing fit. Happened to me and my toddler who likes to help with laundry. Not worth it in the slightest.

doesn't dissolve in cold or warm water washes. it partly dissolved in hot water, but even then there were still soap flakes left in my clothes the box only has a punch-out cardboard flap, so you can't carry or store it without it spilling

I love this soap and everything behind this brand. The failure here lies exclusively with the shipping department at Target. The entire point of this product is that it is plastic free. Yet, it came in a plastic bag with a plastic zip tie. Not only is that unnecessary, but completely defeats the purpose and ethos behind this project. Do better Target!

I love the idea of a plastic-free laundry detergent, but this product disappoints and frustrates. It doesn't dissolve in cold or hard water, therefore leaving residue in your laundry tub, and on your clothes, which transfers to your dryer. My dryer now has every crevice caked with powdered soap. Do not buy unless you have time to spend to address all of this, or unless you always wash in hot water. I hope I can return it. I'd love Target to curate their products a bit more.

As soon as I opened the box I started coughing. I had to return it. I don't know what ingredients would affect me like that but it was instant and didn't stop. I noticed one other review that stated same problem so I know its not just me. It also bothered my husband but not as badly.

As soon as I open the package, it makes me cough. Not to mention that it is overpriced for something that fails to remove any stains.

This soap is what it says - fragrance free soap. Unlike other eco friendly options, this one rinses well and leaves no residue on clothes. My husband gets skin reactions from certain laundry soap, but this one caused no harm. If you are trying to ditch the plastic detergent containers, try this brand out. I have added some essentials oils or other fragrance boosters easily too. Works great in our HE washer and honestly works better and is less harsh than Oxi.

I wanted to love this, as it checks all my value boxes (biodegradable, non-plastic, fragrance free, etc) but it just doesn't work! I washed a load *twice* with this detergent, and the clothes were still stinky. Waste of money, unfortunately.

Such incredible results for such a bargain price. Plus, no petroleum residue in your clothing.

This is an excellent laundry soap. I read Laundry Love by Patric Richardson, almost 2 years ago, and it transformed me to love doing laundry. He mentions laundry soap over detergent. I still use detergent too. I focus on unscented and occasionally scented. Soap is different than laundry detergent. The key is to always use warm water. If you do use cold you MUST follow the instructions and desolve it in warm water ahead of time. Otherwise, it may not dissolve in the water. Plus, you don't need a lot. You only need one teaspoon or two teaspoons per load. I use a speed Queen top loader machine, which is a traditional laundry machine and uses a lot of water. Some of the newer he model machines don't use as much water so you won't need as much soap. And just like the instructions say it's best to put that into the drum of the machine not the dispenser. So as long as you're using warm water or pre-dissolving it is soap works really well. Note: Since this is actual soap it is not recommended to smell it because it will probably make you sneeze. It's still chemicals and is finely ground

I love that this is old fashioned laundry soap without all the synthetic petroleum based chemicals, and I love that this is practically the only non-toxic laundry powder left on the market that doesn't have a plastic container. I have a top loader and need to swish it around in the water before adding the laundry. It probably is not as powerful as the synthetic stuff, but generally my laundry is not super dirty to begin with, so for everyday use this is fine. I supplement with a basic oxygen brightener for keeping whites and brights bright. And I rinse with vinegar to help remove odors and soap buildup. This routine tends to work well. My one peeve about this product is the box design. It has a perforated cutout for pouring, but this is clumsy to use. When you are trying to measure into a scoop, it gets all over the place. I tried opening the top of the box, which is possible but with how it is glued shut it's very hard to get open without destroying the box. I wish it was easier to open the box top and reclose it when stored. I would be a lot easier to use if you could just scoop the powder with your scoop of choice. I'm glad they don't give you a throw-away plastic scoop with each box.

I was looking for something unscented and better for my skin and this was it! I have been using this detergent for a while and I really like it

Live the cardboard packaging and that it is fragrance free. But it really doesn't clean well, even on hot water washes for my towels. I tried tweaking the amount of soap, but it just doesn't clean well. I will have to buy a powdered fragrance free detergent somewhere else as Target has poor selection of plastic free products.

I appreciate that this detergent is labeled as sustainable. However, if I have to wash my laundry multiple times to get them clean is it really sustainable? I switched to this brand after using 7th generation because the packaging doesn’t always dissolve in the washer. I’ll continue my search for detergents…

Great detergent. Clothes feel bright clean and gentle. All what you want from a laundry detergent. Absolutely the best “sustainable”/conscious product I have found. Price point approachable. 60 loads?? If measured exact as directed. My 1st time use will hopefully get 20 loads. Truth be told. Will stick with product for sure.

I have been buying Ingredients Matter for the last six months, it is excellent, mild to the clothes though very efficient cleaning. It is made of cocunut and even the fragance free leaves the clothes feeling clean and not "musty". I will continue buying it.

I really wanted to love this. I officially give up, after several washes. I'm tired of holding my breath to not inhale the dust from pouring it into a washer. I'm tired of it leaving little 'rocks' of detergent. I'm tired of my clothes still smelling. I'm tired of having to worry if the water is warm enough to maybe get the product to work. I'm tired of accidentally inhaling dust and coughing. Okay, done venting. I wanted to go plastic free, but sadly have to go back.

I really like that this soap is just powder in a cardboard box. I really like that the packaging is environmentally friendly. We've been using this detergent for a few months now and our clothes are clean and smell fresh. Best detergent we've used!

I loved the ingredient list for this product but unfortunately it didn’t work effectively. After washing, my clothes still smelled like they were dirty. I could still smell perfume and deodorant and sweat older on my clothing.
