I have been purchasing this line for almost a decade. A while ago (a few years ago I think) they changed the formula & scent. It is no where near as good as the original. They also wont admit to changing it which is such a deceptive business practice. I’ve purchased this a few times since the update, hoping that they’d go back to the original with all the negative reviews on the new formula. But they have not, sadly I wont be purchasing any John Frieda products anymore due to my experience since the change. It is also very expensive for what is now a very generic & unimpressive drugstore product. The new scent is also cheap & headache inducing.

Used to be way cheaper and a larger bottle. It’s also way cheaper at other stores. Target is getting super greedy considering the shrinkflatipn. Used for years and it’s great but calm down on the over $10 for shampoo and conditioner when this used to be under $7 for more fl ounces. That “new look” was a smaller bottle….

I’ve been using this product on and off for years now. I love that it leaves some kind of coloring to the point where you can see the shiny amber on the hair strands under the sun. My only downfall is that it does make my hair dry a bit, but nothing a good deep conditioner can’t fix. If this didn’t make my hair dry I’d give it a full 5 star.

I bought this product three weeks ago and have noticed great changes since the second use. My natural brunette hair is thick and heavy and varies from deep brown and black to light browns and this shampoo and conditioner makes each color stand out beautifully. My hair is much smoother, soft and silky and easier to manage. I just love this product and will continue to use it and recommend it!

I agree with everyone here who says this stuff smells horrible like men's deodorant or floor cleaner. I even called their customer service number and the woman said they would be going back to their original scent which had crushed pearls and cocoa it smelled amazing. Well, it's been over three years and they never went back to their original scent. Thanks for listening to the consumer I'm switching to another brand.

This was my favorite shampoo and conditioner duo in high school 14 years ago, I have been buying high end products for years now but recently wanted to switch back to products containing sulfates. I remembered this one and decided to buy them. My hair hasn’t felt this amazing in yeaaarrrs. My hair feels clean and sooo incredibly soft. The smells are also amazing, just like I remembered. I’m glad John Frieda hasn’t changed these amazing products!!!

I have never raved about a shampoo before, but I’m blown away by this one! I was overdue for coloring my hair and tried this for the first time. I have to say that the color of my hair looked noticeably better, and I even got compliments on it. I swear my roots were not as noticeable after using it. Also, my hair —which has felt like straw lately even after using more expensive shampoos and conditioners —now feels silky soft (even though I paired the shampoo with an inexpensive conditioner!). I won’t be using anything else on my hair now!

Like the other one star reviews I agree that the original version (from 4 or 5 years ago) was perfect. This is horrible. Lank, itchy, greasy and unpleasant to use plus unmanageable. Please bring back the original (not the 'original' in the purple packing but the 'old-old' one..the one with the coconutty aroma! )

I used to use this years ago and, after getting red highlights that were a little too intense for me, decided to give it another go. It smells decent and, while it’s not hair dye, I do feel like it brought my dark brown highlights out a bit more, taking a way from the red a bit.
