[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After seeing how well the Kristin Ess Peptide Protect Shampoo and Conditioner worked on my locs, I wanted to love the leave-in too, but I’ll be honest, I was skeptical from the start. With locs, anything that claims to "coat" or "soften" can be a slippery slope. I don’t want buildup. I don’t want weight. And I definitely don’t want to lose that fluffy, fresh-washed feeling I love. So, I tested it out lightly, using a small amount. I misted through the mid-length to ends of my locs on damp hair. At first, it was promising. Light, fragrant, and my hair felt smooth and hydrated. I thought, “Okay, maybe this is the perfect trio.” But the more I used it over time, especially on days I felt my hair needed extra moisture, I noticed it started to weigh down my locs. That airy, clean softness from the shampoo and conditioner combo was fading. My hair wasn’t dirty, but it didn’t feel as fresh either. It’s not a bad product, and it’s actually a really good leave-in for loose natural textures or light refreshes. But for locs, you have to be careful. A little goes a long way. And honestly, I’m still not 100% sold on it being a staple in my loc routine

I have curly and sometime frizzy hair so I must use a leave in on top of other products in order to keep my hair manageable. The smell of this spray is wonderful. I have used this and allowed my hair to air dry and my curls looked great. They were well defined and not frizzy or poofy at all. I have also used this before blowdrying and straightening and my hair was frizz and fly away free. It left my hair feeling soft and not greasy which is great. It can be hard to find a product with the ability to soften and control without coming out greasy. Great product will definitely purchase again.
