Don't fall for this. Totally useless, I bought the dark brown to cover my grays (I don't have a lot but they’re starting to show on the side). I left the cool or on for 40 mins, hoping it will cover the grays, but as soon as I washed and dried my hair, it looked like I didn’t dye my hair at all. My gray strands look exactly as they were prior to coloring. Total waste of time and money. There’s nothing special abt the device too. I can just mix the color myself and use a brush, same thing.

For longer hair you would need atleast 3 to 4 pods. I have longer hair so 1 pod was not close to enough. When I was using it the dye was dripping from the holes even when I wasn’t pressing the button. My hair was getting tangles and I even brushed it beforehand. I would say the L’Oréal color sonic would be a great fit for someone with shorter hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using the Colorsonic was a surprisingly easy and mess-free experience. The device glided through my hair effortlessly, and the oscillating bristles applied the color evenly without any dripping. Compared to traditional box dyes, it felt much more convenient and efficient, especially as the cartridge only uses what I need per application and can be saved and reused. I also loved how quickly I could apply the color, it took about 10 minutes, and I didn’t have to spend as much time sectioning my hair. The result was a rich, vibrant color that looked fresh and natural.

Love it! I've used it 3x and each time I've gotten better at using. It's quick, easy and not messy. For my stubborn grays, I leave the product on for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Total, permanent coverage. Color is perfect!

Not easier or more convenient than regular box dying, as advertised. Tried the first application, followed all of the directions and the grays around my face remained. The processing time is actually longer than most of the box dyes that I've used. I thought that perhaps I just needed to hover over the stubborn grays a bit longer to deposit more product there, so that is what I did on my second application. However, the wand did not effectively mix the color in the cartridge even though it showed a green check mark and no color wound up being deposited on my hair. So, now I need to go get a box dye to finish my grays. Ridiculous. The concept could be good, but there are A LOT of kinks to work out.
The color is NOT permanent, it fades away.

The device itself is great, it makes home coloring super easy and I'm really glad I got it. For me, totally worth the money. What I have a problem with is that my roots grew out in like 2 weeks. I don't understand why that would be, if there's something different in the formulation for the color used in the device or what. I did really like the color, I'm just mad that I have super obvious roots so soon. Although, you can keep using the color until the unit is empty...so that's a good thing.

Very disappointing! This product did not cover any of my grays, and the dye ran out before it even finished spreading through the roots of my hair. I wish I could say I was happy. But I am very frustrated and sad that it did not work. I will try to return this product, as it does not work as promised.

The application process was incredibly easy—no mess, no fuss, and much more convenient than traditional at-home hair dyes. The scent wasn’t overpowering, which I really appreciated since some dyes can be too strong. However, I’m knocking off one star because the color didn’t turn out as expected. It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t match what I was hoping for based on the shade guide. That said, the technology and ease of use are impressive, so I’d consider giving it another try with a different shade.

While I love the actual device and the ease of use, the color does not last. For t many of us with dark hair, covering greys is a struggle. L’Oréal needs to consider offering multiple formulas. The current formula doesn’t even last 10 days on my hair before it is washed out. Considering how expense the device itself is, having lackluster color formulas is a big disappointment. If you have stubborn greys or color fades quickly on your hair type, this is not the product for you. I’m holding on to the device in hopes that a new formula is developed. This product needs to be usable on all hair types and therefore the color solutions should as well.

My daughter got me this for Christmas and I was sad she’d spent so much money on something I was very doubtful would work. However I love it! It is amazing for root touch ups! It’s quick and I don’t even put on the gloves I had no mess and then you can reuse the cartridge! So I find myself consistently coloring my greys when the roots pop up bc it’s quick and easy. To me the reuse of the cartridge and root touch ups makes the most sense. I have done all my hair and it’s good for that also but to me the key benefit is the quick root touch up and not wasting the rest of the product because the cartridge stays good for 4 months once opened.

I like the concept of the device, but the cartridge did not cover all my gray roots like advertised. I also ran out of product to cover all my shoulder length hair, even though it says one box will. There is no way it can do three root touch ups. My hair didn’t dry out like some others had said and still felt healthy. I would need two cartilages for my hair, which can be quite pricey, not to mention the cost of the device.
