Q: Is the wand recyclable? It seems a huge waste of plastic if not. Is it easier to apply? I use a brush and a bowl anyway. They are pretty cheap and can be used over and over again.

I think this would world fine for root touch-ups for both straight and curly hair, which is what I did. Packaging was eco-ish friendly. Much easier to mix than with a traditional box dye. Strong scent though. PS need to charge unit before using!

But make sure to allow time to charge the device fully ahead of time. My photos are the before and after. I’m glad it didn’t stain my scalp. My hair was quite shiny. The smell of the product was just ok. I have grays by my hairline that are always tough to cover, so next time I will take extra care to put more color at the hairline to ensure better coverage. The packaging can be used to store your device. I will certainly use it again between salon trips.

The application was smooth and easier to apply evenly than a squeeze bottle. I will be using again. Hair came out shiny and the smell was tolerable for a hair color.
Was a fun try but I’ll stick to a normal dye brush

The product is big and bulky making the accuracy of the application not as good as if I were to use a regular brush. It was messy and drippy but is easy to clean which is great! However, since using black dye, I did have to also clean my sink promptly after to avoid staining which I normally wouldn’t have to using other dye processes.

I have long hair and it took me awhile but had no issues using the device. I typically get dye everywhere when I dye my hair but not with this. Definitely would recommend to wash as soon as you are done as per the instructions.

I go to the salon every 6-8 weeks for touch ups. The Colorsonic device was packaged neatly and the instructions were easy to follow. I was able to color my roots by myself. It did not give off a strong smell. Cleanup was easy. The included hair conditioner left my hair very soft. I would use this regularly to save on the trips to the salon!

If you are looking for an easy way to color your hair at home than give this product a try! This is a really easy 3 step process , choose what hair color cartridge you want to use, pop the cartridge into the Colorsonic and then just press the button to apply the hair color to your hair. It’s as easy as brushing your hair. One thing I liked was that I didn’t have to mix any chemicals myself. I like that the Colorsonic bristles evenly distribute the color and my hair looks like I got it professionally done at the salon! The cartridge has enough hair color in it for up to 3 applications or up to 3 root touch ups. The Colorsonic is easy to charge with the usb cable and no batteries are needed. It’s also small enough that it doesn’t take up too much room to store it when not using it! I definitely recommend this product to others! It has been very exciting to try and I know it has become apart of my hair care routine! I’ve received many compliments on how well my hair looks after using! Thank you # L’Oréal #Influenster

Instructions were fairly easy to follow, though it does take a bit of time to clean the device after (which you definitely want to do right away), but I will definitely use it again. My hair felt very smooth after as well/not broken, and a cartridge was enough for a whole head even with having a lot of hair (thicker than it looks). Price is a bit steep (though I didn’t have to worry about that), but it is something to keep in mind.

I didn't have a problem with leaking I've seen in other reviews. The bad: as I was applying, dye would run down my face. I'd reach up to contain it and then my glove would be covered in dye that wild end up on the tool. Trying to put the long end adapter on the tool with dye covered hands was a disaster. Ironically the color wasn't different enough for me to be able to determine coverage! The first pic is before and the second after. I'll try another color to see but I'm not confident the tool made coverage any better then just using a comb and my hands. It didn't feel intuitive enough to set aside the helping hands I prefer when I dye my hair. It also needs a case. The box is huge but there are too many parts to just throw it in a drawer. Overall, it's too expensive for the hassle it creates.

Pros: *I was very impressed with the packaging and quality of the materials even down to the waterproof/tear proof instructions. *1 charge lasts for 3 cartridges *quiet operation *detailed written directions as well as videos that walk you through several different situations and a 1-800 number you can call *self cleaning machine *you can use any left over dye in the cartridge in the future Cons: *to me the hair color had a rotten egg odor which was not over powered, but definitely not pleasant. *because the hair color is not a thick cream, I dripped EVERYWHERE. This could be user error, but it is something to be aware of. *high overall price point, however you can use it multiple times with any cartridge so I think it pays off Overall, I will use this again in the future, and I am pleased with the product This review was collected as part of a promotion

In saying this, this system is very easy to use and comes will all the necessary items needed to complete the process. Was packaged in eco friendly packaging with all supplies labeled well. System needs to be charged before use. To use, all you have to do is pick the hair color cartridge that you prefer, pop the cartridge in the device and press the button and start coloring. In less than 5 minutes my hair was saturated and the smell was tolerable during application. The conditioner smells amazing! Although the color wasn’t as bold as I would have liked, i feel that this system would do better as a touch up system vs a full color to start. Or maybe I needed a second cartridge for full coverage vs root touch ups. Overall I rated this system 5 stars as it was very convenient and easy to use.

Root touch-ups have always felt like a chore, but this made the whole process so much easier (and way less messy). The device applies the color so evenly — no drips, no uneven patches — and it actually felt kind of fun to use. A HUGE PLUS I used it for covering grays at my roots also an entire head coverage and it worked perfectly. Even better, I got three uses out of one cartridge, which made it feel like a really smart investment. The color came out rich and natural, and my hair still felt soft afterward — no dryness or damage. I love the variety of colors offered in the cartridges. Looking forward to next color session. If you’re tired of struggling with at-home color kits, Colorsonic is 100% worth trying. It’s made a usually annoying task feel completely doable — and dare I say, a little satisfying.

I chose medium blonde, and it was a good match. There are two different applicators that can be used to spread the dye on the hair. I found both to be easy to use. Once I got used to the applicator, dispersing the dye on my roots was an easy process. The packaging is very clearly labeled and I really like the waterproof mat where you can put the tools down to keep your space mess free. I did feel that the applicators were a bit pricey, but I am going to see how many applications I get out of each one.
