We ran into this at a playstreet museum and my kid spent a good chunk of time there playing with this. I had to find it at a store and target had the best deal on it. My kid loves rocks, so this combines his love of rocks with recognizing shapes and colors. The hammer and pick axe is also fun for him to use. As a parent, I also love that it comes with its own bag so I can keep all the pieces organized when he is done playing. This was definitely worth the investment. this combines his love of rocks with regonizing shapes and colors.

Very cool idea. My coworker has a set of these and they are brilliant. You can teach kids color matching and quantity co concepts. Very clever toy. Seems durable.

This toy is a favorite in my preschool classroom. It is fun because you use tools to open the gems and the gems inside are very colorful. All of the children enjoy this set and I am hoping to get another one. I also use this as a go-to gift for preschool age children.

My 4 and 8 year old love these - as did a 5 and 7 year old they met at the pool (whose mom then bought the set, too, after seeing her kids play with them). They float so the kids would race to collect them and then open them to see who "won" any given round. I would make up different objectives (whoever gets the most hearts, whoever gets the most blues, etc. wins).
