The most comfortable kayak!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this kayak! I have owned sit-in kayaks from Lifetime and was really excited to try out this sit-on-top kayak. The first thing that stood out to me was the super comfortable seat. It's removable and fully adjustable so I was able to get it to the perfect angle, and the seat is so much more comfortable than any other kayak seat I've used in the past! There are multiple foot rests so it fits people of different heights, which is great because I often share this kayak with my taller husband. My favorite features (other than the seat!) were the water bottle holder and the hatch. They're both easily accessible and I was able to store snacks and a small layer in the hatch. I loved that the water bottle holder actually fit my water bottles and kept them from rolling all over! On my first voyage I was really impressed with the kayak. It wasn't too heavy to carry and I was able to set everything up quickly. The kayak does a great job in the water and I had a blast out there! After taking it on a short paddle, I went out the very next day and did a 20 mile paddle down some slow moving creeks and rivers. Despite being on the water for 8 hours, I was comfortable the entire time. I also had plenty of room to store my gear in dry bags. I'd highly recommend this kayak if you're looking for a comfortable kayak that has great storage space!

Solid & stable for fun on the water!

Just took this baby out on its maiden voyage and had a great experience! The Tahoma Pro is a solid and stable kayak that tracks very nicely. Being a larger 10' kayak I appreciate the two handles on the sides which makes it much easier to carry when doing it by myself. I have some Hydros and Daylite 8' kayaks so some of this review will be in comparison to those. The Tahoma Pro does ride higher in the water, (is more buoyant) which makes sense comparing it to my other 8' 250lbs capacity kayaks. This buoyancy meant less potential for water (splashing or boat wakes) to lap into the kayak, making for a dryer experience. Plus the seat can be slightly elevated off the kayak (using the seat straps shown in the picture) keeping you dry on flat water. I didn't find any instructions about the seat and initially thought the seat straps went over your lap like a seat belt. But I now realize they go under the side bars to elevate the seat. #facepalm I liked the comfort of this larger seat. It is a comfortable fabric, where my other kayaks you're just sitting on the kayak and the backrest is also hard plastic without any padding. My wife however didn't like how her legs would hit the side bars, and prevented her from dipping her legs into the water. Yet the width of the kayak alone doesn't really allow for dipping your legs in the water. Guess my only complaint would be that online it doesn't say which paddle any kayak comes with. And I'd expect this larger 10' Pro kayak to come with the nicer elite curved paddle, but instead it came with the basic flat paddle. And maybe it's just perception, the flat paddle handled just fine. But what I did miss and immediately noticed was the absence of the drip rings. Got dripped on most the the time while paddling. So regardless of which paddle a kayak comes with, I'd hope Lifetime would include the drip rings especially with the larger/more expensive kayaks. I like the bungie cords to hold things down, but wish they all had the anchor hooks and not penetrate the hull shell. Once the bungie cords age, I'm not sure how to replace them when they penetrate the kayak. (See pictures). Just would prefer the anchor hooks making it more usable or customizable. Lastly, my method of transportation is my vehicle's roof rack. I use ratchet straps, and go up through a couple drain holes that line up with the cross bars for added support and security. And turned it upside down for a flat surface resting on the roof rack cross bars. Overall we had a great time and the Tahoma Pro handled great! This is a very nice kayak for any water adventures!

Great features, tracks well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I tested this kayak out today and had a great lake paddle. Features I really appreciated include the very comfortable seat, which is easily adjustable while paddling; the storage area located very conveniently just in front of the seat for easy access, and the paddle keeper, which I used when I was taking pictures. The kayak tracks well and was easy to maneuver. I am 5'4" and found that the shortest foot peg fig me perfectly. Might be tough for someone shorter. My husband is an above the knee amputee and he was able to get in and out of the kayak comfortably and paddle well. My only real criticism is the paddle. It didn't feel heavy or substantial enough for me. The blades aren't curved to my liking, but I realize that is personal preference. I switched to another paddle and really enjoyed my ride. Overall, a great ride. Looking forward to more adventures.

A wonderful kayak for recreational paddling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When Lifetime offered me the opportunity to review their newest kayak, the Tahoma Pro I was pretty excited. I have been a Lifetime kayak user for a while now and have been very pleased with my purchases of the Temptation 11 and Spitfire 12T kayaks. I have owned sea kayaks, whitewater kayaks, and canoes. I have done a fair bit of paddle camping and general paddling. Here is what I think of the Tahoma Pro. The Tahoma Pro is 10' 3" long × 31" wide sit-on-top kayak that weighs just under 50 lbs. It is made in the USA! After unpacking the kayak, I was surprised by how good looking this kayak is. How a kayak looks is perhaps the least important aspect of a kayak - but it doesn't hurt. This kayak also has a removable and adjustable framed seat - I have used other kayaks with framed seats and found them to be miserable. The Tahoma Pro framed seat is actually comfortable and being removable means I do not need to pack an extra chair for campsite and gravel bar lounging. Weighing in at 49.6 lbs, I found the Tahoma Pro to be very easy to load and unload from my roof rack and maneuver around parking lots and boat ramps. Since moving to Washington DC three years ago, most of my family's paddling is on the tidal Anacostia River out of Bladensburg Waterfront Park. This is an urban river that in addition to chemical and biological pollutants has an abundance of trash. We have pulled over 475 tires, appliances, mattresses, furniture, etc. from the river. The logical place to try out the Tahoma Pro is on the Anacostia River. After my first time out on the Anacostia River with the Tahoma Pro I was surprised that I liked the framed seat. Because of shipping damage (not a Lifetime issue), I did not expect this kayak to actually float or paddle well - I have paddled this kayak now for 4 days in row and hopefully we will hit the Anacostia River tonight. I have found this kayak to be fun to paddle and fun is what kayaking is all about. From the comfort of the framed seat of the Tahoma Pro kayak I have watched swimming deer, beavers, turtles, osprey catching fish, and sunsets all within the DC Metro Area - this is the why a kayak is so cool. Because I use a kayak to remove trash from the waters I paddle, my favorite feature is the conservative load limit estimate of 275 lbs. I weigh 170 lbs and the kayak paddles better with less weight but as the photo immediately above shows the Tahoma Pro can handle a bit more than 275 lbs capacity and still be nice to paddle (or if you prefer, stable). I have paddled other kayak brands where the kayak is not fun to paddle with loads below capacity. An overloaded kayak is like a bucking bronco and will seek to throw its load - safety dictates, staying below capacity and Lifetime Kayaks in my experience, state load capacities conservatively. I am also digging the hatch basket - it is so very useful. The drain plug functions well and will be hard to lose. The texturing on the deck surfaces is a nice touch for gripping wet surfaces. This kayak is really well thought out. Anacostia Riverpup likes the front deck - it is a great place to watch the water from. This is not a whitewater or sea kayak. It does not like being submerged. I would feel safe paddling in waves breaking over the kayak hull, but it will take in water through the holes where the bungees are attached - don't go too far or too hard - this is designed as a recreational kayak. I also swapped out the paddle it came with - it isn't a bad paddle, but it isn't a great paddle and this boat deserves a nice paddle. The paddle it came with will be a nice spare for camping trips. I thought my Lifetime Temptation was the ultimate kayak for the waters I like to paddle and how I paddle. The Tahoma Pro is a really nice kayak and gives the Temptation a run for the top kayak spot. I hope to see how it does paddle camping the islands around Chespeake Bay later this year. Have fun, wear your PFD, and be safe.

Great features at a great price

Talk about value!! I took my Tahoma Pro out on its maiden voyage to Purcell lake with the misses and we both absolutely loved it! I am 6ft 240 lbs and had plenty of room to stretch out. My absolute favorite feature was that the seat was super comfortable, and it has multiple attachment points to the kayak just in case you accidentally flip. I had a kayak in the past that didn’t have that feature and when I tipped over my seat went bye bye and I had to paddle 8 miles without a seat! The kayak tracked well and felt pretty stable even in the choppy water and the dry hatch with removable compartment was the perfect size for my phone and keys. My only Negative complaint would be the included paddle. The paddle was lightweight but it felt like it could use a sturdier material for my liking. Overall I would highly recommend purchasing this kayak as it brings a lot of value for the price.

My husband and I are both very impressed with the Tahoma Pro Sit-On Top Kayak and this had everything we were looking for! We both tested it on the lake and were very pleased with its build and performance. The sit on top style kayaks are my favorite and makes getting in/out of them so much easier. I am 5'0'' with a petite frame and he is 5'9'' with an average frame and we're both comfortable in the kayak. Having a built-in adjustable seat and multiple footrest options made adventuring on the water an easy all-day activity! Neither of us had any difficulties paddling or maneuvering around. Even with a decent amount of wind, it was very stable and didn't tip. There's so much storage capabilities with this kayak too! You have a large center hatch to keep your belongings or a small/medium bluetooth speaker as well as bungee cords in the front and back as well as a water bottle slot! The Tahoma Pro Sit-On Top Kayak is perfectly designed for any build and body type!

My Favorite Kayak Yet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got the Lifetime Tahoma Pro and overall really satisfied with the quality, durability and comfortability. The overall design and color is slick, and I felt like I had great balance and control the whole time and never once felt like I was going to flip over. Some features that stood out were the durable side handles, which is something I’ve yet to have on a yak, the multiple footrest positions, and the central water bottle holder, because hydration is key! I also loved the central hatch unit that the Tahoma Pro offers, which will be perfect for storing my fishing and camping gear when I do a 3-day kayak/camping trip this summer. There’s even a plastic insert which allows easy access to essential items, like a cell phone, snacks, a flashlight, or a fishing tackle box. The Tahoma Pro came with Lifetime’s generic black paddle too. I typically favor one a little more stiff and curved, however it’s definitely innovative that this yak has a paddle keeper to use when I need to access some gear or my cooler in the rear tank well. For weighing 49 pounds, I was honestly surprised by it's speed once I gained some momentum. I’m looking forward to taking this one down some Class II rapids soon, especially since this kayak includes a cozy and adjustable seat, which was extremely comfortable during a long day on the water. Expect a similar experience as the Lifetime Tamarack with upgraded features, support and stability, minus the fishing pole holders and a cup holder. I’m ecstatic about the new rivers and lakes I’ll be using this on this year, and many future years to come. Thanks Lifetime for adding another great kayak to the group!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just got my Tahoma Pro kayak. It shipped very quickly and was pretty much ready to take on the water. The tracking in the water is great and very consistent. Its super stable I’m a big guy at 6’4 230 lbs so it’s not easy to find a kayak that works well for me to fish on. I took it out for the first time to a local pond to test it out and it happened to be a very windy day with some choppy water and the kayak held its own just fine. Storage hatch is very accessible. Seat is adjustable and comfortable. Highly recommend!

I’ve owned a sit-in lifetime lancer kayak previously and I wanted to try a sit-on-top this time. For starters I’m loving the cool tone color of the Tahoma and the adjustable seat is super comfortable. The seat was originally installed backwards for streamlined shipping so the only thing I had to do was unclip it, flip it around, and adjust the tension straps. The retaining clips for the seat snap easier when the seat is folded, so if they are giving a little resistance try it when the seat is in a different position. The biggest plus for me is the addition of the side handles and storage hatch. I can solo carry the kayak now on my side instead of needing to use extra equipment or ask another person. No trouble getting in and out of kayak; tracking was good, not overbearing to restrict maneuverability. I felt the wind pushing the lower profiled kayak less than my previous model the day I took it out to Lake Overholser. The last nice thing I enjoyed was the drainage holes for sit-on-tops. Didn’t have to unplug and drain the water splashes of paddling. Shipping was quick and no damage was noticed, the kayak was bubble wrapped very well.
