The Master Lock 643D Set Your Own Combination Padlock features a 1-9/16 in. (40 mm) wide metal body for durability. The 1/4 in. (6 mm) diameter shackle is 7/8 in. Q: Same exact issue as multiple others. This lock is clearly a malfunctioning model. Master Lock won't admit it I'm sure. But this model is a mess.

Q: I have the same problem with my lock as another person did. The lock won't open with the correct combination. I would avoid this lock and get a different one.

I would give 0 star if I can, only after a few times of using it, it’s changed the combo it itself by accident, now the lock is stuck and can’t get it to reset.

Target needs to pull this item off the shelves asap! All reviews on here say the same thing and it’s 100% accurate. I set the combination, it worked the first couple times and now that combination does not work at all. People are saying it resets itself, but I can’t get it to open with the original code either. This is on my back gate so now I can’t get my trash in and out until I bolt cut it off, which is another product I have to go buy. I’ve never needed bolt cutters until I bought this faulty product. Honestly, pull this off the shelf Target, you should not be selling a product that is getting this many complaints about flat out not working!

Used only once; the second time I went to use it, I discovered that the lock had reset itself while in my gym bag. It has a design flaw that has been described by MULTIPLE other users. It is now useless.

bought several for my class to lock their toolboxes. i have to make the students unlock it and lock it back before they put it in the toolbox otherwise it will reset itself. and every single time one of them will lock in the sideways position and you have to fight it to get it to unlock again.

I add my voice to all the others. I accidentally changed the combination and now can't open it. It is very easily done ( I was at the gym and the lock rotated as I picked it up. Shame because it's good and sturdy but thank god I wasn't locked out of anything important.
