Q: In a previous comment, it said the lid goes on tight, but it didn’t answer the question are they airtight?  so my question is are they airtight yes or no?

A: Hi Patio - The lid seal is primarily intended to keep the lid from being loose in the glass body, and does provide some sealing. The, the lid has not been verified to be airtight. - Faith

Q: I recently purchased and cha GED over my pantry with cannister and absolutely love them for dry products; easy to stack with the wood lids...just wondering what is the type of wood material used and how to care for them (wood only) in the future?

Love these containers. Got one for flour, sugar and brown sugar and put a furniture pad on the bottom because I was afraid of them getting placed on the counter too hard and breaking. This worked like a charm. They are tightly sealed but not super air tight because the brown sugar does get hard eventually.

I do not use plastic containers, and love that these are glass. They also look very nice. But I admit they're not all I was expecting. For one, I dislike that you cannot lift the containers by the lid - it WILL pop off. There has to be a way for the lids to be more secure. The glass is also a little thinner than I would prefer. Overall, for the price they're not amazing, but I like them enough to keep using them.

Not sure if this is airtight, the lid doesn’t sit as snuggly as I’d like but it is a nice jar for storage of pantry items like dried chilies or dried herbs.

These are thin as others have said, but I knew that when buying them based on the reviews. No sticker issues as some had, but yes, they did put the sticker on the wood. Mine peeled right off. Now as far as freshness, that is where I am not sure these are the best. My brown sugar was hard within a couple months and unusable. So I would assume my other dry goods are probably not as fresh as I would hope. So they look great, but if you are looking to keep ingredients fresh, I would probably pass.

i use it for nespresso capsules. overall: i like it. like the shape, size and material. i wish: the lid. it has sticker mentioned “don’t grab the canister by the lid” on top of the lid. great info. but, how about the multiple household members who are not aware b/c the sticker already pulled out?
