MEGA Pokemon Mini Motion Geodude Building Kit with Motion 354pc

I liked this Mega Construx set! Set was praised during stream, unique building techniques.

This was a gift for my daughter, she loves pokemon, loves building. However it is missing 2 pieces right at the very end of the build to connect the arms to the body of geodude. Can't seem to get any pieces online and I'm very disappointed that at the end of the directions it gives you a website for missing pieces and it just says it's unavailable. I wasted my time and money on this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this toy from Mattel that my child enjoys playing with. He is 13 years old and this toy keeps him engaged. He is a Pokémon fan so that is the reason he really enjoys playing with this. Parts are small so keep them in a container.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product looks simple enough for a ten year old yet my 16 year old daughter found it very difficult, frustrating, and it often broke while building. Thought the movement part would be better, yet it failed to move correctly. We had four people working on it and found the instructions, to be very confusing. The appearance is great but the results didn’t equal the work involved.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son liked this but thought it could be better The instructions are not totally clear for some steps and the mechanism that makes the mouth go up and down could attach better. We keep having to reattach it. We also accidentally ran over the toy with a yoga ball and a piece snapped in half. Luckily there was a replacement piece included. We liked how Geodude’s name plate came in different languages.

The age suggestion is 13+ but since he does a lot of building sets I thought it would be fine. It was harder than most and I helped a few places, but otherwise the instructions were easy to follow. Once he was done it looked really cool and its nice that ou can animate it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super fun set that moves. My teenage and tween sons were eager to put this together. The bags were clearly labeled as were the instructions. Even still, they weren't sure if all parts were right and had to redo some parts. The Pokemon theme was fine. I thought there might by more movement. You press a button to move the arms and mouth. My boys liked that you could see the tongue and inside of the mouth.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a build for an older child, 13+ is an ideal age. My 14 year old, who builds tons of Mega Pokemon sets and Lego Minecraft sets built this. He said there are a ton of tiny pieces which makes it a little difficult build. Still he was able to build this set on his own. It is fun once it is built to see it move. Please note this is not battery powered movement. Just a simple push and pull lever system. Our only frustration with this set and the reason for 3 stars instead of 5... We found the final building sections to be a bit "crumbly". The pieces didnt stay locked in together. Normally these types of set from Mega are very strong and lock in perfectly. With this set that is not the case. The arms and the pieces that prop up the body will go crashing down very easily. As for the looks of the completed build.. its decent.

He didn't need help from an adult, the instructions to build were easy to follow for him. When he did make a couple mistakes a tool came with it that he could easily use to fix it. This was a great build that took up the morning and start of the afternoon. The fact that this has continuous play after building is a big plus, my son loved making the mouth move up and down and pretending he was having a conversation. This was a great interactive build that my son can display in his room now and still play with.

He and his younger (8 year old) sister were able to put it together with no problem. It looks great with his collection.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall this set is great and unique for my 12 year old son’s collection. He has a few others from the same line and really liked that this one was a bit more challenging but not too hard that he needed help. His only complaint is that sometimes the button that you push down to open the mouth gets stuck down so it’s hard to force the mouth closed without breaking the blocks apart. Overall it’s a great product and he loved it!

The end result is an interatice Geodude, who has posable digits, giving him even more personality. The option to add Geodude nameplates in different languages is also a nice touch.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Challenging, but fun! Instructions were easy to follow, numbered bags and clear graphics made referencing pieces to build easy. The only negative was attaching the head to the the thin bars that basically holds the entire Geodude to the base. The clear case was cool because you get to see the mechanisms in action. Overall, pretty cool abd fun to build.
