I bought this mix to repot my succulents, but it looks like your regular potting mix without the nutrients (NPK 6-2-4). Additionally, it is too heavy for succulents---I had to add bark and perlite to get a mix that would drain adequately. Please fix this or take it off the market. This is not a good product for succulents and I won't be purchasing it again--it was a waste of money. I'll dump my remaining bags in the garden and add amendments.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Miracle-Gro Cactus, Palm & Citrus Potting Mix and appreciate your feedback. These insects do not harm humans and do little plant damage (they primarily feed on the fungus found naturally in soil). Allow the soil to dry out as much as possible between watering will help control the larvae. Apply at least 1/2 inch of horticultural sand on top of the soil of potted/container plants. Larvae cannot burrow through the sand and will die. Horticultural sand should be left on the container for several weeks, until the problem is solved. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 877-220-3089 if we can further assist.

I purchase a bag of Cactus soil about a month ago. I've already seen damage to multiple plants because this is no longer Cactus soil. As others have mentioned, there is no perlite or bark pieces, and the soil now remains and stays very moist. I've purposely left open the bag now for 2 weeks and it will not dry out.

i bought this soil from a home improvement store, works great, needed more and did a pickup order with target. the soil is night and day different from before. it almost feels in a constant state of “wet” and it’s a totally different texture and shade. i bought another bag from another store after and it’s perfect. i’m not sure why what target is selling is different but it is!

I have a family Christmas cactus that is about seventy years old and has always flourished well. Periodically, I would add small amounts of regular potting soil to replenish nutrients. I tried your Cactus, Palm & Citrus potting mix, thinking it would even be better, with disastrous results. Now almost this entire precious plant is wilting badly. I feel that your product has poisoned my special family heirloom. You should take this product off the market before you do more damage. I have always been satisfied with your other products. Please suggest an antidote or treatment to correct the issue and save my plant.

I have purchased this before and had no problems with it. This time, however, the soil was noticeably different and I have had the absolute worst time with it. It does NOT drain well at all — in fact, because it takes so long for the soil to dry out between waterings, I have been battling mold and mushrooms in my succulent pots despite waiting until they are bone dry (and then some!) to water. My plants have never looked so bad — many of them are growing deformed leaves — and now I have to buy new soil and repot everything!

This is my first time caring for a plant but I’m making sure I do thorough research. I needed a new soil fast and got this one bc it seemed to be one of the best for my snake plant… BUT… if you get this soil and have to water it, YOU WILL HAVE GNATS!!!!!! I have not watered at all, I spray with Neem oil often and I have sticky traps. The gnats aren’t a bother at all, but I can tell how they would quickly become a problem if I ignored these reviews!!! DO NOT WATER lol

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Miracle-Gro Cactus Palm Citrus Potting Soil and appreciate your feedback. Insects could not survive the composting and packing process. However, it is possible for them to enter the bag during shipping and storage. Insect may also come in with soil of transplanted plant or enter through cracks, crevices, open windows or doors simply looking for suitable environment. If you are seeing small flying insects, it is probably fungus gnats. Possible ways to control fungus gnats include: 1) Allowing the soil to dry out as much as possible between watering will help control the larvae. 2) Applying at least 1/2 inch of horticultural sand on top of the soil of potted/container plants. Larvae cannot burrow through the sand and will die. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers.
