Summary of reviews
These speakers are a great choice for those looking to enhance their home theater experience with Dolby Atmos capabilities. They deliver impressive sound quality, especially when paired with a subwoofer, and are ideal for use as surround or rear speakers in a 5.1 or 7.1 setup. While they may not offer deep bass, their up-firing speakers add a new dimension to the audio experience. Some guests noted issues with mounting hardware, but overall, they provide excellent value for the price.

Upgrade to Dolby Atmos

Pros: I still have about 30 Hours of break-in time to go, but so far performance is impressive. I re-ran the Auyssey setup on my Denon AVR-S750H and re-watched season 6 of "The Expanse" (which has Dolby Atmos audio) and wow. Cons: Would have preferred 5-way binding posts to accept banana plugs, instead of spring loaded terminals.
Nice 3D Sound

These do the job they are made to do. If you want the full dynamic range of what you're listening to, these will need some assistance. They go down to about 150 Hz, but I'm guessing that they slope off rapidly once they pass the 300 Hz mark. Paired with a good sub however these sound great. The added top speakers are what really make these stand out. They do require a separate connection for the top drivers - I paralleled those with the front driver connections and it's been doing fine. These are made to be the primarily the tenors through altos and cover the sopranos better than the bass. But they aren't made to be the one-stop audiophile sound-space. Good for side and rear channels of 5.1 or 7.1 setup with Dolby Atmos on a budget.
Thank you for budget quality!

I am no expert. I am impressed by the sound! I'd like to break them in with my hand me down 1987 Pioneer receiver and 1991Pioneer 5 disc cd player. They will eventually go to an Onkyo Dolby Atmos receiver setup. The sound is crisp, clear and envelopes you while listening. I want to hear all of my favorite cd's to get a more in depth listening experience. So far I love them and definitely interested in purchasing more Monoprice or perhaps Monolith speakers in the future. I think that pricier speakers might sound better, but I am a firm believer that Monoprice wants to put out quality products at an affordable price and are proud of the products they sell. Everyone should be able to hear the music that they love with quality without going broke. And I thank them for that and cannot wait to hear more of what they have to offer!

Not the most expensive but neither is my TV or onkyo recvr. They get the Atmos job done.

I needed a small speaker to fit in my space but wanted good sound. These speakers really put out great sound even with a small class-D amplifier. The up-firing speaker makes a big difference.

Perfect for my medium sized living room as surround sound and rear atmosphere speakers in my 7.1.4 setup
OK if you need some budget speakers for sound. Quality is low but at this price range that is really not enough to negatively judge them on.

They sound ok, they are comparable to a budget stereo/theater system (?$250) you would get at Walmart or target. Advertising was incorrect and I found out luckily before I hooked them up to my receiver. These are only rated at 30w@4ohms so I was not even able to test them with my older Denon AVR (150w@8ohm) to listen to the atmos sound before returning. I wanted these for some budget atmos speakers in my bonus room for the kids, not the main TV watching area. I did listen to them with a small two channel receiver and they sounded as to be expected in this price range. Not exceptionally clear but they filled the room nicely with sound and would serve the purpose I just don't want to risk my AVR/amp on these. The mounting holes are complete junk as others have already mentioned. Don't plan on getting mounts and wall mounting these.

I'm using them in my bedroom as main L&R speakers for a 5.1 system for lack of space. Since my receiver isn't Atmos compatible I connected the top speakers to my receiver Rear Surround sound outputs. and I actually like the surround sound bouncing off the ceiling better than I like the surround sound coming from behind me, plus it saves me the space the surround speakers would have taken up.
So close, yet so far?

Bought these as surrounds for my 7.2 home theater system. My previous rear surround speakers were old and couldn?t keep up. As it applies to sound these perform well. I docked them 2 stars for the faulty hardware, specifically the threaded mount on the back. My intent was to mount these to the wall, however the threaded mount included on the back of the speaker slid right out with almost no force required. So much for mounting. If you?re setting these on a shelf, they?ll do fine. If you?re mounting, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Very Impressive

As Surrounds they FAR exceed the Energy (Klipsch) units I had. Great presence/clarity/detail. Considering another pair. Most convenient to combine Side/Rear into single cabinet while retaining the the 7.1 imaging with the direct/reflecting setup. Most TV movies are 5.1 and I can still use all 7 channels. Even music sounds better (louder and clearer), whether surround or 7-channel stereo. Finally, bringing the rear channels to the top and side means my recliner doesn't mute them. Room is less cluttered w/o separate rears, and sounds much better. VALUE!

I bought 4 of the immersive speakers and center speaker, since I already had 2 subs and the equipment to do 7.2.4. Right now my quarters are small so I figured why not! Is it as good as overhead? No, but It will give you a nice immersion at a very reasonable price. In the right room they sound pretty good! Try these before a sound bar

Just got an Atmos receiver and wanted to try out the upward firing TML/TMR fields in Atmos. Wired the bottom portion of the speaker as surrounds, and the upward firing top portion of the speakers to the TML/TMR outputs. Sounds amazing! The top/middle channel bouncing off the ceiling to add the overhead effects is next level. Was used to 5.1 and now I wish I would've gone 5.1.2 earlier. Hard to beat these for the price.

Bought these speakers and hooked them up to the A and B speaker connection of a stereo power amp, and I was so impressed that I have ordered another pair for my Dobly Atmos surround of my main theatre system! I couldn't go wrong for the price, Monoprice is pretty good stuff!
Very satisfied with a little hack in a 5.1 surround system.

I've been very impressed with these speakers. I have a 5.1 surround system and have two of them set up as my surround speakers. I did some research on how to use them since they have the extra connection for the Dolby Atmos experience and I followed the suggestion of a reviewer to simply connect it to the lower connection with speaker wire. It sounds great with the added speaker direction upward! At some point, I'll upgrade my receiver for the full Dolby Atmos experience, but for now I'm very happy.

I'm no audiophile, and my hearing is not what it was, before power tools and other loud noises degraded it a bit, but I like the sound and like the price.

I use them in an unusual setup, ADS model 10 dimension synthesizer. Three sets of speakers are need, use these as one of the three. Played them by themselves, sound clean, bass is good for size. Upward facing speaker helps fill room. I like them, would recommend. Read about them because a special processor can be used with them. Also top and lower speakers are wired separately (for special processor. I wired them in parallel resulting in 4 ohm impedance.
