Q: I had my Mr. Coffee espresso machine like this one for about 10 years. I just got this one and unpacked it. Why doesn't it have a glass container for the espresso when it comes out? Or was mine just not there? Also it didn't come with a manual.

I like that this machine is easy to use and makes 4 shots of espresso at one time. I had it for less than two months before the frother would constantly blow out steam, even in off position. This is the second Mr. Coffee machine that only lasted 2 months.

NO!! BAD PURCHASE!!! I purchased this machine around the holiday season as a gift for my daughter. She didn’t actually attempt to use it until after the New Year. The very first time she used it, it literally exploded hot liquid and coffee grounds all over my kitchen. I’m grateful my daughter had gone to the opposite side of the kitchen and didn’t get injured. I’d thrown the box in the recycling bin, so I couldn’t return for a refund.

This was a good machine at first. My husband loves espresso so I thought this would work and he could make his own at home. It worked well for about a year and a half. Then it started making hissing noises during brew and would leak. We gave it a good clean and made sure all parts were working and ran water through it. Then he went to make espresso again and it literally just blew up! Hot liquid, hot grounds and glass shattered everywhere! Thankfully nobody got hurt but I would NEVER recommend this product and if I could give it a 0 star I would. Save your money!

I love how not only can you make normal hot coffee but it has a special frothing feature. It’s very compact so doesn’t take up much space , its price is cheap especially for what it does. I haven’t had any messes with it and it’s easy to clean. Very sturdy too which is amazing .

For the price, it’s an okay machine, but there are definitely better options out there. If you're looking for something basic, this might work, but don’t expect anything special. The machine is plastic, very light and moves when you put/remove the coffee, the frother works well but coffee comes very diluted every time, no matter the brand or portion.

I did have to go in YouTube to watch someone instead of reading the instructions. They were quite complex to me, but I think I’ll be a coffee making pro soon. It is light in weight, and makes a very hot cup of coffee. It is very easy to clean as well. I did like the steam & froth option if you want to partake. I did like having options to make myself a cup of coffee.

The basket blew off two of the three times we tried to use it. Very difficult to align properly, resulting in pieces of shattered mug projected everywhere, wet coffee grounds all over the counter and floor, and scalding liquid on me. Very fortunate no one was seriously injured. I've owned multiple machines in the past and did not have this issue - this is model-specific. DO NOT BUY.

If the brew basket on your Steam Espresso Maker blew off during use, it could be due to a few possible issues: The most likely cause is excessive pressure inside the machine. Steam espresso makers rely on pressure to force hot water through the coffee grounds. If there's a blockage or the machine is malfunctioning, pressure can build up, causing the brew basket or other parts to be forced off. Clogged steam wand or filter: Over time, mineral buildup or coffee grounds can block the filter or steam wand, increasing pressure. If the coffee grounds were tamped too tightly or the grind size was too fine (more suitable for an espresso machine, rather than a steam espresso maker), it could cause too much resistance when the water tries to pass through the grounds. This would increase pressure and could cause the basket to blow off. Make sure you're using the right grind size (medium-coarse for steam espresso makers) and don't tamp the coffee too tightly. If the brew basket is overfilled with coffee grounds, it can cause too much resistance during brewing. This can result in the basket being blown off due to pressure. Troubleshooting Steps: Check for Blockages: Inspect the steam wand, filter, and any other components for buildup or blockages. Ensure Proper Assembly: Check that the brew basket and any parts are correctly aligned and securely attached. New Design Fails Miserably

Cons: - The new design was completely unnecessary. - The light being on the side instead of the front doesn’t do well if someone forgets the machine is on. - The holder for the espresso is now rounded out with a bunch of space that does not improve the quality of flavor, making the drinks disgusting compared to the previous design. Using our exact same measurements to make our usual drinks lead to an extreme difference in taste. - The locking mechanism for the espresso holder is so stiff that it’s hard to tell if it’s locked in all the way. Not to mention, the effort needed to lock it in all the way and then unlock it is ridiculous. The first use caused an explosion that sent espresso grounds flying and our cup to shatter and spread glass all over the floor. The second try was when I figured out just hard you have to push to lock the espresso into place. - The time it takes for the machine to release pressure once espresso was down pulling has now tripled compared to the previous design, making the machine less convenient and more time consuming. Pros: - None Overall, the company changed what wasn’t broken and it has led to an extreme drop in product quality. The original design worked perfectly. We are returning the product. Thank goodness we hadn’t gotten rid of the previous version of the machine yet. We’d rather keep repairing the old than deal with the mess that is the new design.

After approximately six months of occasional use it has two issues: it does not brew with sufficient force (water breaky trickles through) and the steamer doesn't stop when dial is turned off, back to brew or even unplugged! Very unsafe. Unfortunately like so many other products, the quality is now garbage.

If your coffee maker is not working, it might be because the unit is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the wall outlet itself is a non-working outlet. To remedy this issue, check if there is no physical damage on its cord and if there's none, try unplugging the coffee brewer. Let the unit rest for 3-5 minutes. Then, plug it into a different wall outlet. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips, power converters, or inverters as it may affect the coffee maker's performance. Also, make sure that all parts and accessories are properly inserted. Otherwise, it might cause the product not to work properly. Your coffee maker has a 1-year limited warranty.
