Q: how long does it take to start feeling the effect of this product. Ed F

submitted by Ed - 7 years ago
  • A: I noticed a difference in one week.

submitted byMegan - 4 years ago
  • A: For myself, it took quite awhile to feel/notice any physical difference. I would say 2 months or so, give or take a week. However everyone is different. I myself have always been anemic and never treated it until my first pregnancey. If you have a very low red blood cell count it will take a while to build up your iron stores. I hope this helps even though it's not an exact time line seeing as everyone is different.

submitted byRLW - 7 years ago
  • A: It took about one week for me to feel more energy

Q: you are not answering my question I already read all the other things about the Pill I want to know what if any are there side effects from taking 65 mg a day??

submitted by TerriO - 1 year ago
  • A: Just do a google search… would have been faster than typing your question.

submitted byBC - 24 days ago
  • A: Iron supplementation higher than 45 mg/day to treat Iron deficiency may cause certain gastrointestinal effects, but taking your Iron supplement with a meal instead of on an empty stomach will help relieve any effects.

Q: I am female and google says we are supposed to take 18mg of iron a day. So is 65mg a day healthy?

submitted by eden - 4 years ago
  • A: Also know that iron is not water soluble, so if you take too much too frequently, you may see other health issues from too much iron- see hemachromatosis. So talk to your doctor about taking these

submitted bytoo much iron is not good - 10 months ago
  • A: Nature Made Iron 65 mg (from Ferrous Sulfate) Tablets are intended for adults with an iron deficiency. We recommend speaking with your personal healthcare provider to discuss the products and dosages that are appropriate for your needs.

Q: My doctor recommended a smaller dose of iron per day. I have a pill cutter, is it safe to cut the tablet and take 1/4 or 1/2 the tablet per day to match my doctor’s recommend amount?

submitted by Reviewsbyme - 1 month ago
  • A: Thanks for reaching out. It is NOT recommended to cut tablets as it may create a rough edge and make it difficult to swallow. Additionally, cutting the tablet may not ensure you get the exact dosage your doctor prescribed. If you have any further questions, we suggest checking with your personal healthcare professional.

Why use calcium as a filler for iron pills?

    3 out of 5 stars
    C.S. - 1 month ago
    originally posted on naturemade.com
These iron pills list "dibasic calcium phosphate" as an ingredient. Presumably the calcium is being used as a filler. But calcium interferes with iron absorption, so choosing calcium as the filler for iron pills seems counterproductive.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. Other than the vitamin, mineral, or herb components, the "other ingredients" that are used to make Nature Made products provide various functional purposes which may include acting as a binder, suspending agent, or coating material, to name a few. These types of ingredients are necessary to ensure the quality of the products.

I took one pill at noon with food and water because I have a sensitive stomach and got diarrhea at 4am. I also felt like I was going to vomit at the same time. I still took another pill the next day at noon because I was thinking maybe I got sick. But at 8pm I got a cramping pain and I could not sit up. I see the good reviews as well but this was my experience.

my new shipment of these arrived and they have changed the label causing a little panic and reserch. The front of the label no longer says "(325 mg Ferrous Sulfate)". The bottle is also taller and slimmer. For anyone like me who counted on those words "(325 mg Ferrous Sulfate)" to know you were buying the right bottle here is your heads up
