A: You can use Kalita wave filters for the single serve function, and Bunn 8-12 cup basket-style fitlers for the full carafe function. OXO has FAQs on their site (linked below). We decided we wanted a coffee maker with a carafe. I did a lot of research and read many reviews. We decided on the OXO 8-cup Coffee Maker. We love how it looks… and we are so happy with it! It’s incredible how much better the coffee tastes than our old Cuisinart. My husband likes to add extra coffee grounds which could overflow in the normal coffee filters it recommends. After a bunch of looking around, I found that Bunn filters are about half inch taller and fit perfect! Thanks OXO!!

It's well balanced, it's easy to handle, it pours perfectly without dripping, and it holds the temperature reasonably well. I like the small footprint of the unit, since my countertop space is scarce. Most importantly, the coffee is good. On the down side, the temperature of the coffee depends on how much coffee I'm brewing. A full carafe of coffee comes out noticeably hotter than a partial carafe, and a single cup comes out even less hot.

The cup measurements on the side of the maker are very off. If I pour in 3 cups of water from a measuring cup, the side of the machine says that it has over 5 cups of water in it. This then makes it confusing as to which setting to use for brewing and how many scoops of coffee to actually put in the machine - the 2-4 cup setting or the 5-8 cup setting, 3 scoops for 3 cups or 5 scoops for 5 cups, etc. Still trying to figure it out. But overall it’s a good cup of coffee.

I had high expectations for the Oxo 8-cup coffee maker based on reviews and its appearance on numerous “Best Coffeemaker” lists. Even though its capacity was a little smaller than desired, it had a thermal carafe which was essential in my opinion. I was looking for something a little faster and less messy than my French press. While it may be both of those, the trade-off has been a less flavorful cup of coffee that doesn’t stay hot for long after I pour it into my cup. The coffee isn’t bad, mind you, it is just unremarkable and lacks the rich flavor notes that my French press delivers. And the capacity is quite small. I use an Oxo 4-cup measuring cup to fill the reservoir. I only have to fill the measuring cup once to meet the line on the reservoir, so how is this 8-cups? Now I’m drinking buyer’s remorse. If I had kept the box, I probably would have returned it.

Good coffee maker for the price. The coffee that’s immediately brewed is not as hot as I’d expected. My single use Keurig Coffee makes hotter temperature coffee.

I absolutely love this coffee. However, it does not stay hot long enough to finish one cup. After two hours in the carafe,I must microwave the cup of coffee. Many of the reviews I’ve read say the coffee remains hot but mine does not. I would buy another OXO coffee maker if there had been an improvement to the carafe. This was a Christmas gift two years ago. Still trying to decide whether to buy a new one or just keep microwaving my cup

After 3 months both white lights started blinking when I turned it on and it was not usable. I de-scaled it 3 times without any benefit . Ready for the landfill.
