Description
The OXO SoftWorks V-Blade Mandoline is a safe, versatile food slicer. Four interchangeable blades combine with a simple height adjuster to make straight slices, crinkle cuts, French fries and julienne strips, all in a variety of thicknesses. The blades store on board and remove easily for quick cleaning by hand. A textured surface keeps food from sticking during slicing while the included food holder protects fingers. The handle, thickness selector and Mandoline feet are all non-slip for a safe, comfortable slicing experience. When you're finished, clean the Mandoline body in the dishwasher, then fold the feet in and lock the selector knob for safe, compact storage.

A: Thanks for your question. Yes, our V-Blade Mandoline Slicer can make a waffle fry cut. You would use the crinkle cut blade and rotate the food 90 degrees on each pass.

Q: How wide is the cutting area? Is it large enough for a pineapple, or is it only 2.2" wide? That seems very small.

Please note: The blade on the mandoline is very sharp and OXO recommends to use the food holder and cut the carrots long ways. Purchased March 2025 & returned. First - Do not buy a plastic mandoline. The force of your hand slicing the food causes the mandoline to bend, making for a very inconsistent slice. When you go to cook the food, it cooks unevenly. Second - The product is over-engineered. The extra blades store on the actual slicer, and the locking knob on the side doesn't always lock things in place, so it unfolds and flops around when trying to clean. It's way to "kitchen gadget" for me. I can appreciate OXO trying to make an all-in-one, but it didn't work for me. If you are a serious cook, invest in OXO's steel version. Pricey but worth the investment if you plan to use.

On paper, this looks like it will be a versatile and worthy kitchen tool. But good luck even getting to that point! All the blades are separate plastic pieces that are stored in different spots of the tool. It is complicated to get them on/off, and the instruction manual is worthless. I spent a good twenty minutes just trying to get the crinkle blade off and attached for use; no luck. Finally gave up and decided to put it back into its “storage” spot, and have tried every which way but can’t get it back into place. Can’t wait to return this device.

It works, but not without a lot of hassle. Feel like this thing would only be worth the time if you were slicing A LOT of veggies, and in that case you'd be better off buying something better. This is very poor design. I'm frankly surprised they still sell this. The instruction manual gives no instruction on how to remove the julienne/french fry blades. Probably because they know how dangerous the bad design is, and giving the actual instruction sets up the customer to cut themself. The answer is you have to pull it upward out of the unit with force, which is extremely dangerous, so you need to drape something thick like a dishtowel over it first. Pass on this. They designed it so that you buy it, use it once or twice and then toss it in frustration.

I used this to prepare carrots and celery for soup. The carrots unfortunately stained the base of it after the first use and was unable to fully get the stain out. Other than that, the mandoline itself works pretty well.

I can’t live without it anymore, I sliced an onion in seconds, tomatoes, even pepper, carrots everything. I use to have a chopper but I end up breaking 3 so I tried this one, I slice and the chopped if I need or want, I can choose the thickness of my slices. I refrigerate the remaining in a container, I love to have my food ready all the time, easy to clean it have never rusted or break. I own it for 5 months now.

Other mandolines change blades with the turn of a knob but with this one, in addition to turning a knob, you have to switch in and out several blades which snap into the body of the tool itself. I found it nearly impossible to put the blades back in their storage slots and cut my fingernail off removing the blade from the slicing position. Too much of a struggle to deal with on a daily basis. I wanted to like it because some of the other mandolines only cut very thin slices, and this one goes up to a quarter inch for both slices and juliennes.
Oxo lives ip to their standards with this mandolin.

It was so difficult to figure out. The instructions are dismal. I watched a few YouTube videos with little success. I prefer a straightforward mandolins
