Q: Does the rake automatically start moving or do you have to push the button to get it to clean?

A: Thank you so much for asking. Once your cat exits the litter box the timer will start and automatically rake at the end of the timer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The scoop-free litter box was simple and easy to set up. It replaced an exiting setup. The cats seem to like it and use it regularly for #1. It does make some noise as it scoops which does startle the cats. They have been using the other box for #2 so far, not sure why. Hopefully, they get more used to this one over time. It is wonderful that it auto-scoops and is something I don't need to worry about. The litter emplacement are a bit pricey, but it is nice not scoop. So far no odor lingers and It takes up about the same amount of space. Just have to find a spot next to a plug if need be.

The waste disposal is subpar best I got very excited because it was an electronic unit and the bottom of it is just a cardboard that you might need to keep replacing. I don’t mind replacing bags or anything like that, but when you have a big cat and if it peas that much it’s going right through the cardboard.

I absolutely love not having to worry about scooping and adding litter everyday. The litter adds the benefit of deodorizing as well as clumping the waste. The litter box has sensors which makes it so helpful for it to know when it needs to collect the waste. The noise level I can’t even hear, I just switch out the litter trays in about a week since I have 2 cats. My cats have had no issue using the litter box. I also appreciate since the litter is a specialized formula it doesn’t track throughout the floor. Also, my cats were very amused by the box it came in.

One of my cats is scared of everything, so he does not trust that this makes sounds, which are quieter than I had expected. With multiple cats, we do need to empty waste container every day.

For your kitty who is still unsure, we would recommend unplugging the box for some time and manually scooping it to allow him the opportunity to adjust to the box without it making any sounds. Once they are comfortable, most cats will accept the rake moving when it is plugged back in. It is important to mention that these boxes are designed so that when plugged in you do not need to empty the waste container manually but can dispose of the entire tray when the waste area is full. The box is very quiet, even when the rake is in use. Initially, I thought the litter box would be too small for my 10 and 11 pound cats to use comfortably, but they seem content with its size. When I first introduced this box to my cats, I made sure to leave out their existing one until I was certain things were acceptable. I think this a key step in the process that should not be overlooked. I love that the box’s countdown timer to clean is 20 minutes. Gives plenty of time so it won’t scare the cats. Very impressed, overall.

She's still getting used to this after 15 years of the traditional litterbox, but quickly getting used to it. The crystals are good with odor control and the noise isn't bad. Setup was easy and maintenance doesn't look difficult. Much cheaper option and space efficient than the LitterGenie. A couple of cons- -wish the tray was a little deeper or bigger..or maybe I just need to add more of the litter crystals -The refills are a bit expensive.

The PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Classic Self Cleaning Litter Box is life changing! I will never scoop a filthy litter box again. The technology behind the crystal litter is simply magic. Nearly three weeks went by, and there was zero odor or color change -- the litter looked just as fresh as it did the day I put it in the cat's litter box! The ScoopFree crystal litter is literally dust free, and one bag lasts up to a solid month. Setting up the litter box was a breeze, and the disposable tray at the bottom comes with a lid, making it easy to cover up and toss away soiled litter. The odor control is unbelievable. I forget I even have a litter box in the house. Refill trays can be somewhat pricey depending on your budget; however, you save so much money in litter changes. You also don't have odor, dust everywhere, or have to scoop! In my opinion, it's well worth it!

It is very large compared to other boxes I t cleans well so that save it. It’s relatively quiet while running. Odor was definitely down but i am not a fan of the disposable tray i think there could have been a liner with a sturdy drawer instead of replacing the drawer, so it feels more wasteful than traditional but if you want hands off then this one could be for you i however don’t mind having a little extra work

With the no cover design it’s better for small spaces and easy to add littler and clean. My cats are still skeptical of the Crystal litter but are coming around to it and using. I haven’t noticed any strong smells which is nice too. Only downside is the disposal area is pretty small. It would probably work best for a single smaller cat otherwise would need to be emptied by hand or would get very pricey. The crystal litter is also more money than the other types .

It came with very simple easy directions and I set it up and used it a few days before I wrote the review! I have one in door cat and he seemed to like it as much as the other kitty litter brands and used it the same. It’s been a few days and I have no odor and it cleans the pan after each use from my cat, only thing we gotta do is clean the little bin when it needs it! Over all, it’s a great much needed device in my home as a person who recently had back surgery it’s amazing!

It scoops all of the garbage onto one side so it’s easy to clean up. I have 2 kitties so this will only last me 2 weeks before changing. I was a little weirded out by the tray that you put the litter in is cardboard. I’m going to see if there is a reusable one. Seems so wasteful to throw away that much cardboard everyday. That is my only complaint with it. We will use this for when we go out of town. It’ll save on kitty sitter. Pretty cool product.

It hardly makes any noise while it's cleaning which is amazing. It was really easy to put it together. My female cat has yet to use it she's just not used to it . I did find that the waste storage area is a bit small. I had high hopes of this litter box but upon doing research I found that the trays for this is quite expensive and wouldn't be convenient for someone if they have multiple cats and if they are on a budget.

Easy to clean, dirty litter is moved to the front of the box in a covered area leaving behind clean litter which helps immensely with odor. Easy to scoop out litter to clean. Probably will need to clean every ten days or so.
