Description
Philips Avent Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. Use Philips Avent Natural bottles only with Philips Avent Natural nipples. Includes: 2 Natural Response nipples, flow 2. SCY962/02
What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:
-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.
-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Misleading Nipple Flow Description
2 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
LexCrabtree - 8 months ago, Verified purchaser
This is very misleading. These are described as a newborn flow in the description but they’re a flow 2 nipple. If you dig down into other reviews, you can see moms mentioning using these for their 6 month+ old babies. We bought them with the intention of using them for a brand new baby in the hospital. I opened them to sanitize before I realized they were flow two (the box also says newborn 0 month+). Read carefully!
Terrible Flow

Newborn Mom - 10 months ago
Terrible flow, our newborn is 5.6 pounds and is tiny so this is the size that should work for her. We have tried this bottle for the last three feedings and she has gotten no milk out of it each time after 45 minutes of trying. Only buy this if you are looking to get frustrated and have a fussy baby.

Used these with my son 3 years ago and loved them. Tried with my newborn daughter and she can’t get anything out of this new design!! She’s now 12 weeks and still can’t get milk out. I bought the old style on amazon and they’re so much better and have no issues

Didn’t work for us. Ordered 2 sets returning one. It takes forever for my breast fed baby to latch on this nipple, and if even if she does nothing comes out. I gave it to my toddler to try thinking that my newborn is still just too weak, and my toddler wasn’t successful either! We like the original avent bottles and had high hopes for these.

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your baby is finding it difficult to get the milk out of the nipples. We would like to inform you that our new Natural Response Nipple lets your baby use their natural drinking rhythm, like they do when breastfeeding. While age is a guide, we recommend watching your little one’s cues to find the best nipple flow. We designed the nipple range to work for all different drinking patterns, from fast and enthusiastic to slow and steady. The Natural Response Nipple is available in nipple flows 1 to 5. The flow rate of milk they get from the nipple is linked to how enthusiastically or steadily they drink as they develop. Slow and steady drinkers are likely to prefer a higher nipple flow (such as nipple 4 or 5) to ensure enough milk flows, regardless of age. You can start with the nipple that comes with the bottle and adjust from there. If after a few feeding attempts you have no success, consider changing to a different nipple flow. You might need a higher flow if you see your baby struggling to get milk out or playing with the nipple. If this does not help or if you have further questions, please reach out to us via social media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use social media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Hope to speak to you soon. Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care
Design change causes leaks.

The natural response nipples seem to have had a design change from the ones I purchased last year and it causes bottle leaks and spills all over the baby when feeding. I compared the newer nipple (on top in the photo) to the older one (on the bottom in the photo) and the older one is completely flat inside the rim and seals properly and the new one has multiple ridges causing it not to seal properly. This explains why I have had a lot of issues of leaking.

Hi there, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us regarding the recent design change in our Natural Response nipples. This is not the experience we wish you to have. We would like to inform you that our valves are designed to be anti-colic, which means they will always be slightly open to maintain the anti-colic function. As a result, you may see some drops coming through the valve while the bottle is balancing the pressures inside and outside. This is normal and should not cause significant leakage. When the bottle is held upside down with the lid closed, it is typical to see less than a teaspoon drip out in the first 30 seconds. This can be taken as proof that the valve functions properly and prevents air from entering the baby's stomach. The leak you mentioned should be seen coming from the area between the teat and the white screw ring. After the first 30 seconds, or when the baby begins drinking from the bottle, the leakage should stop, creating a vacuum in the bottle. Incorrect assembly is a common reason for leakage in approximately 50% of cases. Please ensure that the nipple is inserted properly through the screw ring and that it is suitably tightened on the bottle without being overly tight. Wet glass bottles can be particularly difficult to close since they may slip, so it is best advised to dry the bottle before closing it. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

They’ve changed the design and my baby couldn’t get any milk out. I used these with my first baby three years ago and loved them. However, this time around she’d suck and suck with no luck. We had to switch to another bottle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 2 months old always just stick to breastmilk directly. I had tried a couple of bottles available in the market even with special nipples that just look a like breast shape but with no success. I received this as a product to test from the Steller Product testing group and thought of giving it a try. and it's a success. It's easy to clean and the flow is good. She takes some breathers in between. No drip tip is another advantage as my baby plays in between with the bottle and it avoids the milk spillovers. The only thing I didn't like is the plastic bottle. It would have been better to have a glass bottle as easier to clean and environmentally friendly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I reviewed these bottles as part of the stellar product testing program but I really like these bottles! The shape of the nipples and the no drip tip is my favorite part about them. I would highly recommend them if you breastfeed as well! They are one of my favorite bottle of all time and I’ve tried a lot of different ones lol

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I was able to test out the Philips Agent Natural Response bottle with my newborn. I was able to try out different flow nipples, and it was definitely nice to adjust the bottle as my little ones needs changed. As my mostly breastfed babe became more efficient in his nursing, being able to make the flow a bit quicker was a natural progression for him to ensure he still takes the bottle. He started this flow at just about a month and it seemed to be the perfect time. The wide nipple also complimented our breastfeeding journey well as it more closely relates to what he’s used to. The little guy took this bottle very easily with no fuss! PLUS - the no drip trip was a must with 4 children and a bottle often being thrown in the diaper bag last minute (without paying much mind to the way the bottle is sitting). The shape and size of the bottle make it easy to clean all the nooks and crannies. Mom and baby give this bottle 5 stars!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These nipples are a winner for my chunky 2 month old. I love the texture of the nipple and it seems more natural then others, giving baby a good latch and preventing leaks during feeding. I especially enjoy the no drip tip because it allows baby to drink at his pace. It’s great during for late night feedings because I can trust that he isn’t getting too much milk regardless of the angle I hold the bottle. They are also fairly easy to wash. I received this item from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this bottle nipple set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We have been using the Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle with our newborn for a few weeks now and it has been going great! The set has allowed us to slowly progress to a faster flow at her pace. The no drip feature is amazing! Seriously no leaking!! My baby used to struggle with reflux and gas after bottle feeds and both of those have nearly subsided since we started using this bottle/nipple set. Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The flow 2 nipple set is easy to clean and provides a simple solution for colicky babies. My baby had trouble latching, though, and the flow was too low for him. All in all I would give it 3 stars as it has both pros and cons. It would be a fine product for babies that don’t like a strong flow. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this bottle nipple set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It’s always good to have a few nipple flows to choose from. As my baby switched between breast and bottle, I opt for slower flow, which she seems to prefer. This level 2 flow seemed to be just fine for her! She is nearing 8 months of age and had no trouble with the flow speed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love these bottle nipples. And my son loves them as well. They work great and mimic a true breast which is a huge plus for me. I love it dosent drip as well and gives him some time to swallow. Definitely helps alot compared to his other bottles I love the Philips brand better. He normally gets drowned in milk with his other bottles. I love how wide the nipples are it makes it easier for him to latch on to it. They are super easy to clean as well. And the flow was perfect for my baby I loved I could have different options to pick from. I'm so glad stellar panel sent me this to try I have bought more nipples like this since I recieved it because I love how they work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the flow 2 Phillips Avent natural baby bottle nipple as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel for my review. This is the first time we've used a flow 2 nipple on a bottle for our son that didn't cause him to choke. The no drip tip actually is no drip, unlike other brands that say they're no drip. I think that was a big factor in helping my son to use it successfully. The nipples for the Phillips Avent natural bottles were super easy and quick to swap out as well. The reason I did not give these nipples 5 stars is because the shape of them are not my son's favorite.
