Description

Philips Avent Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold and easy for small fingers to grasp. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. The Natural bottle is made from polypropylene, a BPA free material, and works with all nipples and caps from the Natural line. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. Includes: 3 4oz Natural bottles with Natural Response nipples, flow 2. SCY900/93

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Packaging uses 100% plastic alternative, FSC-certified paper, with great potential to be widely circular for majority of product packaging.

Q: Can we sterilize the bottle cap by using a sterilizer? What is the material of the bottle cap?

  • A: So the glass bottles can be sterilized by boiling or using a bottle sterlizer?

submitted byJanel - 4 months ago
  • A: Hello! Yes. After every usage, make sure to thoroughly clean and sterilise all parts of your Philips Avent bottle that come into touch with milk. All parts are cleanable either hand washing or dishwasher use. The bottle pieces can be sterilized in a Philips Avent sterilizer or by boiling them for five minutes. Do not put a cold GLASS bottle into hot water to avoid damage.

Q: What flow number should be used for new born ?

submitted by Awsome - 10 months ago
  • A: Hello! For newborns, I recommend starting with a number 1 nipple, which is designed for breastfed babies and allows milk to flow only when the baby actively drinks, similar to breastfeeding. While age is a guidance, we recommend watching your little one’s cues to find the best nipple flow. We designed the nipple range to work for all different of drinking patterns, from fast and enthusiastic to slow and steady. The Natural Response Nipple is available in nipple flows 1 to 5.

Q: What flow number is needed for newborns?

submitted by jgk - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi there! The flow rate of milk they get from the nipple is linked to how enthusiastically or steadily they drink as they develop. Enthusiastic drinkers use a strong suction and compression while drinking, resulting in greater milk flow, so they usually need a lower nipple flow from the Natural Response range (such as nipple number 1 or 2) to avoid overflow. Slow and steady drinkers are likely to prefer a higher nipple flow (such as nipple 4 or 5), to ensure enough milk flows, regardless of age.

Flow 2 nipples are too fast for a newborn!

I absolutely love these bottles. I love them so much that I bought them for my third child coming this year after I used them on my other two children, but I’m really not happy about is why there is a flow two nipple in the bottles. flow two is for 2+ months not newborns. every single baby I’ve known that’s used these nipples my own included has needed a zero flow or one flow when starting these bottles. There should not be a size 2 nipple in these bottles. It should be a zero or a one what the heck! they basically do this so you have to go and buy other nipples and spend more money.

I wrote a review for the glass ones on accident but I meant to write it for these. Best bottle for my preemie CMPA baby who struggled to feed! Changed the whole game for him. Milk only comes out when they actively are sucking on the nipple so it doesn’t spill. Philips should pay me because I tell every mom I meet now how amazing this bottle is. Easy to clean. Easy to put together a bottle in a hurry. Doesn’t leak, baby loves it I love it what’s not to love. Start on 0+ and moved to higher flow now that he’s 11 months old. Best bottle ever

THESE BOTTLES NEED TO BE TAKEN OFF THE SHELVES

Kendoll10 - 1 month ago

These bottles should be taken off the market and recalled!!! Tried the 4 oz bottles for my newborn and found that he worked so hard sucking and getting next to nothing to eat. He would take an hour to get 2oz down if he didn’t fall asleep during the feed first. Fast forward to my child’s 2 week appt…he not only lost his birth weight which is normal, but he dropped from 7.10 to 7.4 and hasnt gained anything back. We tried different formula, different nipple flows…nothing worked. We finally bought a different bottle type all together after these bottles essentially were starving my baby and he began to put on weight quickly. Don’t buy these bottles, they should be recalled.

Very convenient - 6 months ago, Verified purchaser
I am beyond frustrated that we bought 2 packs of these and they are of no use. Weve tried everything to get milk out of these nipples and its absolutely useless. Its the most frustrating thing trying to feed your hungry newborn at night and little to absolutely no milk comes out. Dont bother sizing up in nipples either. It seems like they triple silicon coated these nipples. Your infant would not have the strength to suck on these nipples to get milk out!!

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish your baby had with our Natural nipples. Please be informed that our Natural Response Nipple is available in nipple flows 1 to 5. You might need a higher flow as your baby is struggling to get milk out. If this doesn't improve your baby's experience, please get in touch via social media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

Grades for colicky babies I think some people are saying the milk doesn’t come out or comes out slowly because they’re not releasing that they need to align the two dimple holes at the bottle and nipple have for the flow to come out properly

Perfect for Evenflo wide nipples ~ allows us to use glass bottles since evenflo doesn’t have them in stock. Just remove the original nipple and replace with the evenflo wide ones (perfect for breastfed baby who needs to learn wide latches). No more of plastic bottles ☺️

These are terrible bottles. My newborn could not get any milk from them. I sized up to size 3 nipple flow and she could get milk but it made her more colicky than bottles that were not “anti-colic”. I followed the instructions (lining up the valve on the nipple) but they did not work well for us.

My baby was born at 36 weeks and was a really weak eater. We tried these bottles and even went up to nipple flow 3 and 4 (which made it a little better) but she took so long to eat. Eventually it started taking her an hour to eat 1 bottle! I gave up and bought Dr. Browns narrow and she went down to 20 mins per bottle.

We loved the old version of these with our first child. These were the worst for our newborn. It would take an hour for him to get .5oz from the bottle. We finally swapped the nipples to 3’s and he can drink them in 2 minutes. I’d just be aware of the nipple issues before purchasing these.

Hi there, We are sorry to hear that you are facing leakage issue with your Philips Avent Baby Bottle. We would like to let you know that the incorrect assembly is the reason for leakage in 50% of cases. Make sure the nipple is inserted properly through the screw ring, and it is suitably tightened on the bottle without being over tight. Wet glass bottles are particularly difficult to close since they slip. Hence, it is best advised to dry the bottle before closing it. You may also follow this link for more information about how to avoid leakage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d19uSYc23E. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care
