Philips Avent 4pk Anti-Colic Baby Bottle Nipple - Flow 3

These bottles and nipples are okay. I’ve had issues with them leaking out of the ring and between the nipple in several bottles. My baby doesn’t fight the nipple which is the only reason I am not switching brands right now. Wish I had replaced them earlier though due to the leaking.

Seems to be the perfect size nipple for any baby. Super easy to clean and I absolutely have no complaints. I recommend these bottles and nipples to all my new mom friends!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do like the Phillips Avent anti-colic baby bottle nipples but the size 3 is too fast flowing for little babies. I think they would work great for slightly older babies closer to 9 months. I can’t wait to give them another try when my daughter is a little older. Overall these nipples are good, and wash easily. We’re on our 2nd baby and after trying a ton of bottles with our 1st, we knew Philips was our go to. No leaks, both babes loved the nipples (either shape they have) and they are sturdy bottles for every day use. We wash ours on the top rack of the dishwasher and have never had an issue. I would recommend these and all of the Philips bottles to any mom (or dad) out there!

Unfortunately, my baby was not very fond of these bottles/nipples, just due to the fact that they were a bit big for her mouth, which is small due to growth issues. This is not the first bottle we’ve had this issue with, and in no way do I hold it against the product. So, I am not able to speak on how well the bottle worked for my baby, but I can speak on how it looks and things I found that my first child would have benefitted from. The nipple that comes with the bottle is a size two, which for my first baby would have meant that I’d have to buy separate nipples starting out, since he was breastfed and used a level one flow for a while. The good news is, they have plenty of options on nipple flow. Starting with a level one nipple, which is the slowest flow they have, and going to a level four at the fastest. This level 3 is a good in between and is marketed for babies 3 months and up. With my first child, he wouldn’t have used this flow until he was probably closer to 8 months old, since he was a breastfed baby and preferred the slower flow for a while. So these options would have given him plenty of time and use with these bottles. All of the nipples for this bottle are the same size, which is an issue for my LO due to her small mouth. But, they are very flexible and very much comparable to a breast, which would make going back and forth between breast and bottle feeding much easier and not cause as much nipple confusion. I do think this nipple and bottle combo would help with reducing colic in a baby, just because of the way it works.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I was able to try Philips Avent Anti-colic Baby Bottle Nipple in size 3 through Stellar Product Testing Panel. I'm currently in love with the size 3 nipple. It flows pretty fast without a lot of pressure. The nipple is a bit firm compared to the other sizes but my son's gums are firmer and he's got a tooth coming in. That means he's not destroying his nipples while feeding which is additional plus since it's also preventing gas and reflux. With the flow his angle has changed so he doesn't choke but the nipple and bottle are still doing what they're supposed to. I love the size 3 but the other sizes are great to have as well. Great investment when your breast need a rest or you're sharing this experience with your spouse. Keep baby's belly safe and happy!

We haven’t needed the 3 yet but the 1 and 2 have been so great I don’t see why the 3 would be any different. Our baby loves these bottles and the ease of flow with these nipples. My breastfed baby easily accepted these nipples making for an easier feeding. My little one is 6 months old and flow 3 was a little too much for her. I have a 4.5 month old daughter who is breastfed and also receives bottles. We got these nipples in addition to level 1&2 and she still prefers the level 1 at the moment however these will be great for future use. The level 3 relates to how many openings there are for milk to flow (which is 3), and for us at the moment it was a little too much but we will hang on to use soon! The nipple shape is soft but firm and easy to wash and sterilize. The 3 small openings are also nice and small so it allows a nice flow that’s not too overwhelming.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the Avent bottle feeding products and we’ve been using them for multiple children now. These nipples are identical to their others, they’re just faster by adding one extra hole in the nipple. It was a little fast for our 7 month old breastfed baby but I think we’ll move up to these as he gets older. He used to spit up a lot so I want to keep the flow rate slow for now. The labels on the nipples are clear and easy to read. There is no confusion because stage one has one hole, stage two has two holes, and stage three has three holes. We’ve moved up to the stage two now, which I think we’ll stay at, as long as he doesn’t choke or anything. I love Avent products and these do not disappoint! The Philips Avent anti-colic baby bottle flow 3 nipples were just too fast for my primarily breastfed baby! We typically use a newborn nipple for my five month old daughter, who is exclusively breastfed but takes a few bottles of pumped milk each week. The flow 3 nipples gave her too much milk too fast, and she ended up drooling a lot of it out the sides of her mouth, and she coughed and sputtered a bit. On the positive side, however, she was willing to take the bottle with these nipples and she is picky about what bottles she'll take! The nipples were clearly labelled with the size, and easy to clean. They would probably be perfect for a formula fed baby! But my little needs slower flowing nipples.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before I had my second child, I had no idea that some babies are (extremely!) picky when it comes to the specific bottle/nipple they will take. Baby #2 made this very clear to me when he came home from the NICU after 3 weeks and wouldn't take the bottles/nipples we had used for our first child. It took many, many trials and many, many errors before we were able to find a bottle/nipple option he would accept. While the Philips Avent Anti-colic Baby Bottle Flow 3 Nipple did not end up being a nipple that my little one would accept, I will say that the variety of nipple choices available is spectacular. Having those different options will ensure that there is a flow-rate that is right for your baby that won't cause frustration (too slow) or gas/tummy issue (too fast). Feeding issues can cause SO MUCH stress, so having different flow options (and having those options on hand the day you get home from the hospital) to help avoid a feeding issue before it starts is fantastic. I'm always looking for easy to clean options and this is it! So straightforward! My little one chugs her milk very fast so I was hesitant to move up in flow but it seemed like she swallowed less air while chugging her milk with this nipple vs others. I started using this flow after 6 months when the previous flow was too slow for my baby and he didn't like it anymore. I really recommend trying the different nipple sizes if your child starts having issues with the flow. I also appreciate how the packaging is reusable to store nipples and pacis. These are way to strong of a flow for my son right now but they will be nice to have on hand for when he is older! He definitely prefers the size 1 nipple. He is almost 6 months old and is receiving breastmilk in a bottle so the slower flows are much better and help with gas so much!

Unfortunately my daughter refused to take this style at all, but she especially didn’t like this high flow nipple. She was overwhelmed and coughed and gagged at it. That said, she is primarily breastfed, and therefore has gotten used to a very regulated flow. This may be useful for a baby who is primarily bottle fed, and it’s always nice to have a few flows to try out.

We have decided to move from breastfeeding to pumping and bottle feeding. This is when the problems really started to appear. I was desperate to try any bottle to see what would work for her. She seemed to latch on well to the Philips Avent Anti-colic Baby Bottle Flow 3 Nipple. She is able to latch comfortably and easily. Even though she is 6 months, I think the Flow 3 was too fast for her. We had to stop as she would choke and was not able to keep up with the amount of milk let out. I am glad to have tried the different flow rates and will keep these as she gets older and more used to the bottle.
