The 12 cup coffee maker is easy to clean, with a durable, borosilicate glass carafe and Lift & Clean brew basket that are both dishwasher safe. Get your first cup fast with Auto Pause & Pour. It stops the flow of coffee when you lift the carafe to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing ends. The indicator light on the switch illuminates when the coffee maker is turned on, to remind you to shut it off. The nonstick warming plate is easy to wipe clean. I like that the brew door swings out. The problem with any drip machine is that coffee sometimes drips onto the burner, but if you swing this door open first before removing the pot, you can avoid that problem.

This coffeemaker makes a great cup of coffee. But for what appears, at first glance to be a very basic coffeemaker, it has some very well-thought-out features. It fits easily on the counter, under the upper cabinets, with over 6" to spare. The water fill is from the front, and the coffee basket swings out, so it is unnecessary to move it to set up a new pot of coffee. When you are done brewing, swing out the basket and lift it off, making disposing of grounds less messy, and easy to rinse the basket. The only feature I would wish for, that is not on this little gem, would be an auto-shut-off after an hour or 2. For our family, this is just a convenience, but it might be something important to another person.

We had a hard time making coffee in this coffee maker. The water is poured in at the top and you have to go slow or it will over flow. The pot that holds the coffee has to be removed so as not to grab onto the coffee grounds cup. We had grounds in our coffee twice and had to pour it out. We've only had this for 3 days and we've decided not to use it and will purchase a different coffee maker. This Proctor Silex is coffee maker is not worth getting it to save space!

The only issue we've found is that you have to make certain you pour the water in slowly. Otherwise it's an excellent no frills coffee maker.

Another great feature on this coffee pot is that you are able to choose from 3 brew strengths. It's very efficient and only takes around 4 minutes to brew 12 cups. There is an automatic shut-off after 2 hours which is nice. I'm very happy with it.

This is perfect for my house because we have only 1 coffee drinker and limited counter space. I like that it still makes enough for company when needed. It is easy to use, especially because you can fill from the front without pulling the coffee maker all the way out to the edge of the counter, like some taller types require. It's simple to use as well and the coffee comes out perfect.
