If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. To remove the scent/taste, please soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added. As well, we have many quality checks in place to ensure that you can use our products with ease. This is because all of our products go through extensive testing to ensure safety with proper use. In regard to the previous scent, there likely aren't any remaining bottles of the original scent still being sold, and currently, there are no plans to reintroduce the old original scent in the United States. As all of our products go through strict quality checks to ensure that they are safe to use when used as directed, so we would not expect it to break your hands out or cause any sort of burning eyes, nose or throat, and recommend you discontinue use of this product. To get any scent off of your dishes, we recommend you soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it (or) run them through the dishwasher (assuming the dishes are dishwasher safe). If you choose to wash the dishes in the dishwasher, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher along with some vinegar directly into the dispenser. You can also put a cup of vinegar upright on the top rack of the dishwasher so that it gets knocked over and distributed during the wash. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out.
