Regalo 2 in 1 Super Wide™ Safety Gate & Play Yard

I purchased the regalo super wide gate in May 2023 and have loved it. I wanted to get a second one to join the two together. The images here on the Target website show the OLDER model that I purchased in 2023. However, the one I purchased in December of 2024 is a different model and the two are not compatible. The new model is also less customizable that the original model. I wish I could find a second of the older model because it was much better. Target and/or Regalo should update the photos associated with this product as they are misleading.

This thing is a piece of garbage, advertises that it's adjustable but you either have to remove no panels or 2 at a time, so guess what? When we needed to only remove 1 panel to fit our space, we couldn't. Waste of time and frustration, it's either the biggest size or the smallest size, nothing in between so don't trust the "adjustable" title, it's a lie. Took it back immediately for a refund.

Hinge broke after 2 weeks of very light use. Very disappointing considering the price tag

I use this for my 4 dogs and it works to keep them out of sections of the house when guest are here had it for a year and love that you can adjust how big or small you need it to be the two cons that i will say is i hate that the connector pieces are plastic and they break easily im down three sections that cant connect anymore since they broke cause it fell over on the hard floor had to tape/ziptie if i want to connect them and the wall mounts are plastic as well and they broke too just with it being quickly leaned on by accident def would be worth the price if all the parts were metal and not plastic makes no sense in safety/durability since the plastic breaks into small choke-able pieces. Other than that i love the gate helps out a lot just not worth the price.

For $90, I would’ve expected a gate that I didn’t have to put back together every day. I can’t even say it gets the job done because my 3 baby geniuses can still get through the gate. I certainly don’t recommend if you have children 15 months and older.

Very helpful for keeping my toddler away from the TV but it's a little difficult to put together when you need to shorten it

Do not buy this. First, it’s difficult to install, it doesn’t hold its shape since the “screw” for tightening comes loose by itself. The door is very difficult to open, lock on the door pinches every time if you are not careful. Overall it’s not a good product. We have a safety first door for the stairs which has much superior and convenient door and lock but they don’t have a play yard so we bought this one and we regret it. I don’t recommend this product.

I was pretty disappointed that they listed this item and then brought another version of it out to the car… which then we had to go back and return it. And I had used my 20% on this purchase which was not returned to me.

Hinges cracked immediately after taking out of the box. Didn’t even get a chance to open the instructions where it tells you how to loosen because they are INSIDE the folded up gate! Don’t waste your money.

I’m starting to not believe the stars ratings on reviews… we’ve had this gate for 2+ years now and we absolutely love it! For when we needed it, we shortened it and lost pieces as time went on. Still have a good chunk of the gate but buying it again as it was that good to us. It has never broke for us. It’s sturdier than other gates we’ve returned for a similar price. It’s nicer to the eye and EXTREMELY adaptable. Read the instructions. Again, the gate is adaptable. Pieces can come off and can be added on. (We plan to add on to it) Folds up nicely when not in use. A bit heavy but that’s not a bad thing. Keeps the dogs out and the toddler in. Such an easy system my 5 year old knows how to open the door. For my 2 year old, we just don’t fully “lock” it. The lever piece holds to the door and we don’t put the grey piece over it and she understands the simplicity of the up and down motion to the gate. We have tile and we have not noticed any wear and tear on the floor like other gates we’ve had where they’ve scratched the floors.

I was hesitant to buy this product due to several reviews stating that it broke upon taking it out of the box… well, that’s because people don’t read the directions/warning clearly attached to the product when you open the box. You have to loosen the hinges before opening or you’ll break them. Which makes sense, since those hinges tighten to keep it sturdy and not move when it’s in use. This wouldn’t be my first choice for a free-standing pen (there are other products that are cheaper and more sturdy). However, as a gate for a large opening or to block off an area, with each end secured to the wall, it does the job. My husband and I purchased 2 of these to block off a large area in our addition where our treadmill and bike are located to keep our toddler away from them. Since it’s such a large area and so much gate, I put double sided foam take under each leg to keep it a little more secure on our hard floors. There’s really only so stable it’s going to be when you’re using 2 of them. The walk through gate handles ARE kind of cheap. Having 8 children, I’ve had better quality in the past…. But I also see that most products have tanked in quality the last 22 years, since having my first child. To be fair though, the price of this particular gate is significantly less than many others I looked at of a similar size. So, I’m not surprised. The take away here…. This isn’t a terrible product, especially for the price. Read the directions. ALSO, for those who don’t think that you can attach the end pieces to a second gate are mistaken. You just pop the bottom plastic piece off of the end and it attaches like the rest of the panels.

Item was broken in multiple places

Not sure why there’s so many bad reviews on this item it seems to me ppl just don’t know what they’re doing. Nothing was broken coming out of the box and the gate can be broken down to individual gates if done correctly infact I was able to build a whole other gated area for toys out of the left over gate pieces. I’ll include photos to see what I mean

I would give this item a zero if I could. The plastic corners cracked and broke as soon as I took it out of the box and tried to straighten it. Bars were falling off as well.

Don’t let the bad reviews steer you away. I was hesitant but took the chance and had great luck. Mine did not break upon taking out of box and I’ve had no issues with it. The only thing I wish was possible is that you could remove 1 panel at a time instead of 2.

The best fence I ever bought.

All the connector/hinges broke immediately when trying to get it out of the box. Not even long enough to read directions. Such a waste of money.

I read the reviews that said it would break immediately, bought it, brought it home, opened the package and it broke immediately. Don’t waste your time.

We bought this for our Australian Shepherd puppy. She has figured out how to power through several configurations of it and broken hinges.
