A: Hi - you can use a drum shade or an bell-shaped design. In general, look for a shade that is around15" across the bottom and 11" or 12" high. That will be a good proportion for the lamp base, Hope that helps! Thank you for the question.

This is a handsome, sleek and sturdy lamp with easy, pleasing nods to both classic and modern. Deep bronze color. Lovely sheen and smoothness. No flaws. We've used it for over a year now and we're all the happier with it as time goes on. Love and use the swing arm all the time. We've thought about changing to a three-way switch, but haven't really needed to, and the current switch has nice projection and is easy to use. We have it in a transitional room, but it could go either modern or traditional. Very good price, especially considering the quality.

So pleased with this lamp. Wanted classic and understated. With the Taupe Drum Shade it is almost not noticed in the room but when it is it looks so classy. SO impressed with the weight of it. Very sturdy. Easy to turn on and off and really nice color. The cord can be hidden nicely too and put together easily. I am using it next to a chair/ottoman for reading. Might get a second.Pros: Sturdy, Artistic Design, Easy Assembly
