i have used this saltair shampoo for a year now, and at first i absolutely loved it. it made my hair look great. im not too sure if something changed in the formula or what, but these past couple months i have been losing a good amount of hair, and my hair itself has started to become flat and greasy right after showering. i do not think i would recommend this product.

My scalp slowly started to itch. I didn’t make the connection to this shampoo until I broke out in eczema on my scalp. I’ve never broken out to a shampoo, so I’m not sure which ingredient did it.
Dont buy!!!

Ive never struggled with shampoo (I’ve used so many brands and products) so when my hair became dirty and had too much buildup after every use I thought it was brush or leave in conditioner, after changing everything it turned out to be the shampoo. It literally leaves your hair dirty, I had to go back to my previous brand and it two shampoo washes before my hair went back to normal.

I thought my hair was getting brittle or super dry and I replaced my hair dryer, my brushes and everything only to realize it was this shampoo. It makes my roots greasy very quickly, and leaves a type of thick, course coating in my hair where I can’t get a brush through it and it just feels grimy and dirty. I changed from this shampoo, and problem solved. It smells great but as for my hair, it’s an absolute no go.

I had actually never heard of the saltair brand until I walked upon it a couple months ago. As someone who has 3a to 3b hair, the only company I use is Shea Moisture but I started noticing my some curls were slowly not curly. This product definitely not only makes my hair smell like coconut (one of my favorite smells) but actually defines the curls again. I do a finger coil when letting this set in the shower and then rake it out. Definitely will buy again!
Less Frizz, but SO MUCH BUILDUP!

Made my hair much less frizzy & loved my curls! But it left so much residue in my hair. No matter how much I washed out my roots always felt greasy
Glad I gave it a chance!

At first I didn’t like this, it’s gives natural shampoo vibes where it doesn’t lather or suds up as much as regular shampoos but it’s worth it and I’m buying another bottle. It’s done wonders for my thick coarse wavy hair and really brought out my natural texture! And it smells divine
Greasy...

I tried this for the first time a few days ago and as I was drying my hair, I couldn't figure out why my blowdry brush was so hard to pull through my roots. Then I realized... this left the thickets residue on my hair I've ever experienced. I've gone a few days between washes with hairspray in my hair, but I stepped out of the shower feeling greasier than that... I couldn't run my fingers through my hair, and a brush tugged SO hard. Don't waste your money.

I loved the packaging, but the product inside the packaging is terrible. Left my hair feeling dirty and with some sort of coating on it. My hairstylist was so confused as to what I had done to my hair. Do not buy.

DO NOT USE IF YOU COLOR YOUR HAIR - I switched to this shampoo and conditioner since my last coloring and just went in to get my hair colored same as always, and my hair literally turned to a jelly mush!! I only color my hair twice a year at most and I have an amazing stylist. The shampoo and conditioner are the only thing to change. With this awful chemical reaction has left me with very thin hair, though I'm grateful to walk away with ANY hair after seeing it come out in CLUMPS in the stylist washing bowl!
Too watery and does not lather

Highly disappointed. It did nothing for my curls. Was super thin and did not lather how it should have. I love Saltair body wash so I was excited to try this but sadly just wasted money.

I used this product for about two weeks and started noticing that more and more hair was falling out as I combed my hair after using this shampoo. I'm 99% sure it was from this product because I switched shortly after and the hair fallout lessend significantly. The results of the product for my curly hair was very lackluster and nothing to write home about. I would not recommend this product at all.

Like others have said, this product caused a breakout on my scalp. It’s like those painful hormonal deep zit like pimples that hurt all the time, not some little acne. I gave it 2 stars because it honestly performs very well on my hair otherwise. Such a disappointment.

I bought this shampoo, conditioner, and defining gel about a week and a half ago. After just a week I had chemical burn on my neck, chest, and fingers.

This is now my third time buying this shampoo and the matching conditioner (which I think is the stand out product). The shampoo has a nice gel consistency and one full pump doing give a really nice foam when worked into the hair. I do really enjoy the smell as it adds to the experience. My small issue with this shampoo is that sometimes it leaves my hair feeling a little stripped of hydration but never to the point that I won’t repurchase the product and the conditioner always fixes that. Besides that this is a very good shampoo and at a very accessible price.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

My hair was left dry and matted after one use. This “conditioner” didn’t even come close to moisturizing my hair.

Pro: smells nice Con: left my roots feeling so heavy. I’m a 2C/3A girly, so I know not all “curl” shampoos work for all curl types. Before using this shampoo, I could go 3-4 days without needing a wash because my scalp didn’t really get oily. Starting this shampoo, I immediately felt my scalp staying oily, like never fully clean. It weighed down my roots and one day after my shower, my hair visibly looked greasy. I thought it was just my hair changing postpartum, so I kept using it for about a month before it made my psoriasis flare up on my hairline from the build up. I know other reviews said it was a very light shampoo which did intrigue me because, of course, I have wavy hair so heavier products weigh down my hair, but this shampoo was too light for myself and weighed it down. After switching back to a different shampoo from another brand, my hair feels normal again (and so clean). So take this information with what you will.

I wanted to try this brand out because the bottle was pretty but while using this I was shedding a lot of hair and once I stopped my hair stopped shedding as much. I wanted to love it but my curly hair did not.
