Q: Does the outer film contain any plastic products or byproducts?

A: Our Laundry Packs pouches are made from virgin #2 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic. These can be recycled along with other plastic films. Most grocery stores will have a bin for recycling plastic bags and our plastic pouches can be added to that. We recently make the pouches recyclable, which was an improvement we were very excited about. Previously, the pouches were made with layers of multiple types of plastic that cannot be recycled together. However, we know our work is not done yet. We are working on ways to eliminate the use of virgin petroleum from this pouch and from all of our packaging components.

Q: How does this brand, this scent specifically, work on odors in clothing?

Q: So these can be dropped into a front loader and clothes immediately added, right? They don't need to be dissolved before adding clothes, right?

A: Hi there- Correct, we recommend placing the pack directly into the empty washer drum- before loading in clothing/ garments (to avoid the pack getting bunched up in the clothing/ garments). The pack will fully dissolve once it is immersed in water.

I purchased these over a week ago and they’re horrible. They never dissolve into the laundry and then if they make it to the dryer, I end up having to scrape the dried peices off my laundry.

All it does is ruin me and my baby clothes. The packs dont fully dissolve in the washing machine which is a HE front load washer. I noticed in the front load washers it just becomes a harden plastic mess on our clothes but on regular top load washers they fully dissolve and do what they need to do. Overall, i just would not recommend or buy in the future. Immediately returned and refunded.

I bought this detergent because it was the best “clean” in store alternative I could find. It works so well on stains and heavily soiled clothes. It surpassed my expectations. However the price is a bit high.

There isn’t a scent to it which is a downfall in my opinion. I enjoy scents, it’s not a good value for your money, but is environmentally friendly.

Great detergent!! Cleans great, but new cap design is terrible. The container's packaging looks sleek and has a great uniform design, but cap is NOT functional. It drips down side of container after I put it back on, except when I am super careful. I have to pay attention, otherwise it leaves a small puddle. every time! Previous container's design was so much better. Very annoyed!

These are not unscented! They have a horrible perfume smell on them. You can smell it as soon as you open the bag. It leaves a nasty smell on clothes that smells musty, like old baby vomit. It is way too heavily scented for even an unscented product and is much worse than the older formula. It also does not rinse out and leaves a film on clothes even after hot water rinse and 2 rinses. I can no longer use this product. The older version was better. I have bought multiples of these thinking it was the bag or something, but it's this new formula. It's way too scented and leaves a perfume scent on everything and does not rinse out. Branch Basics is a better nontoxic, unscented product and I am switching back to that.

I love this detergent and also the lavender option in this brand! It cleans well in a top load machine. It has a fresh smell and cleans well. I would definitely advise putting the pod in the bottom of the machine before adding the clothes in. I do use two for some loads that are larger. I love that you can get a small amount of them too for when you’re traveling to the beach or lake! This is a great clean option if you are looking for less chemicals.

I feel like they don't get my clothes as clean as I'd like them. I like that they don't come in a plastic tub, but it's still in plastic.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because sometime the pod doesn't dissolve all the way and it leaves a small clump of powder in the washer. My husband has never had that issue so maybe there's a trick to putting in in the washer. Other than that I would definitely recommend this product to others.

I'd like to have faith in my washing detergent that it will do its job to the best of its capabilities and leave me happy. That is what this has done. I like these packs for regular size loads and they're non fragranced for my sensitive skin boy. The down side is the package doesn't contain many loads and needing two for a large (typical) load just doesn't seem sustainable with a primo product from Seventh Gen. Otherwise, a good product wrapped in a small package!
