Q: What kind of water do you mix with this? Filtered faucet water aka brita, bottled, distilled, etc. Also, do you need to sterilize the water before mixing it with the powder? Thank you!
A: Bottled water not refrigerated.
submitted byDebbie - 3 years agoA: We always use distilled water...........sometimes called "baby water." Just has all contaminents removed.
submitted byJH - 2 years agoA: Great question, Debbie! You may want to check with your baby's doctor, but if you have any doubts about the safety of your water, bring the water to a rolling boil for 1 minute, cool, and then add to formula. If you have nonchlorinated or well water it is really important to have your water tested regularly before using it to make formula. Hope this helps! -The Similac Team

Q: Is hot water required when making the formula or is filter (Brita) room temperature ok to use?
A: Thanks for the question! We are aware of the World Health Organization’s recommendations to use hot water at 158°F (70°C) to prepare powdered infant formulas. Using hot water to prepare formula may break down heat-sensitive nutrients, cause clumping of the formula, and puts adults or little ones at risk for burns. At Abbott Nutrition, we agree with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that cooled water (room temperature or cooler) should be used to prepare powdered and concentrated liquid formulas. Mixed formulas should be immediately fed or refrigerated according to label directions. Hope this helps! -The Similac Team

Q: Is there any specific temperature that the water has to be to disolve the formula? Cause I did a bottle with room temp water and it looks grainy. Or is that the correct texture of the formula?

Q: what is the difference between similac 360 total care and similac advanced?
A: The formulas are very similar. Similac 360 Total Care products are our next generation of infant formula and, in addition to 2’-FL HMO, now have four additional HMOs in an exclusive blend of 5 HMO prebiotics; they do not contain the prebiotic FOS. Similac Advance has the prebiotic GOS, Similac Sensitive has the prebiotic FOS, and neither contain HMOs. We suggest checking with your pediatrician for a recommendation. -The Similac Team
