I purchased these 6 years ago and have used them extensively since. I have some vintage stanley chisels as well and i use them constantly. These are excellent chisels. They hold an edge but are easy to sharpen. The balance of the chisel very good as well. As for the price, it is very inexpensive for the quality that you get. Overall, this is an excellent choice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did a cedar Mortise and tenon decorative sign post for my church. they worked great. Used them on Oak table joints as well. Like them. Wish the handles stayed in better but still cut amazing.
Needs work, but once that is done they can perform

I am a "fine woodworker" and needed a set of chisels to complement my style- unfortunately, I am not within the range of Lie Nielsen, and I've heard mixed reviews of the Veritas. I wanted to put together a set of original 750s, but couldn't get lucky on eBay...so I settled with the "classic" 750 remakes. Honestly, I was very disappointed out of the box- the presentation was nice as each had its own blade guard and wrapping, but upon inspecting the blade's edge, I noticed that it looked more like a Gibson headstock (not straight AT ALL). I was anticipating doing my own sharpening, so I wasn't too disappointed but it did take a lot of work. I began with the 1 1/4'' chisel and worked down...I flattened the back (some worse than others) and honed the primary bevel (kept it at 30 degrees) and then added a 32(ish) degree micro bevel. Sharpening took me 2-3 hours a night over the course of 4 nights. After spending my time to make them right, I now have a very fine set of chisels with which I am happy. If you are looking for an "out of the box chisel", it may be worth your time/money to check out IBC or LieNielsen; however, if you can put in the elbow grease to sharpen these just right, you'll be satisfied as I am.
Not a true bevel edge chisel.

Terrible quality! Save your money for wood river or LN. 3 handles were cracked. The side bevels are all uneven, And they do not hold an edge well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have wanted to purchase the 8 pc. SweetHeart™ 750 Series Socket Chisel Set for a number of years and I finally purchased a set online. I was not disappointed. I have a few of the original 750 SweetHeart Chisels and these modern day chisels are both beautiful to hold but perform as expected and are sharp out of the box. I know need to learn how to sharpen them properly. The hardwood handles and steel cutting surfaces are very well made and live up to expectations. I would highly recommend their purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the 8 piece chisel set, complete with a top quality leather tool roll. The chisels are made of excellent quality Sheffield steel. They take an awesomely sharp edge with oilstones, waterstones or wet dry paper on granite. The "heft" is lighter that you'd think but it allows for a balanced tool that is not "bottom heavy". The handles are sturdy. They can be struck but I tend to push them and tap lightly when paring and chopping respectively. For the money, I dont think that you can buy a better chisel. These are bound to be hierlooms for the next generation to whom you pass these down.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you read woodworking sites many people recommend the Stanley 750 series of chisels and there are many reasons why. They feel good in the hand, from the wood against your fingers or palm being more comfortable than the hard cold of plastic to the balanced weight when you're working your project. When the handle wears it can be replaced easily, this also lets you get a custom handle if you want a different length or feel. Whether you buy a set new or find a well loved set of used chisels you won't go wrong with the 750's.

These sere supposed to be a nice reenacting of the famous 750 Stanley chisels. However upon receiving the package I was unpleasantly surprised by how thick the beveled sides are. This is more of a firmer than beveled chisels ! Apparently Stanley cut corners on this one by saving on the grinding operation and this significantly lowering the quality of the tool. The bevels are 2.5 mm ( 2/16" ) thick, which is unacceptable.
