Sunbeam 1400W SteamMaster Steam Iron removes the toughest wrinkles with ease and makes ironing a breeze. Includes a powerful SHOT OF STEAM® feature to provide an extra burst of steam to help smooth out stubborn wrinkles on both flat surfaces and vertically for hanging garments, upholstery, or drapery. Q: How long can this iron be left before it turns off?

A: Hi Pat, If you leave the iron: • in a horizontal position without moving it, or accidentally tip the iron over, it will automatically stop heating after 30 seconds. The Power Indicator will blink to let you know that the iron has stopped heating. • in a vertical position (on its heel rest) without moving it, the iron will automatically turn off after 15 minutes. The absolute worst. Stopped working after 3 uses. Didn't have my box so tossed it. I probably could have returned it. Oh well.

This was really disappointing for the money I spent- I was very excited to get an iron with a retractable cord, but next time around I think I’ll go back to the tried and true iron I always used and forfeit the retractable cord. This iron leaks, so my hand is wet the whole time I iron, the steam toggle is super touchy so i end up switching past the desired setting every time, and the steam doesn’t seem to come on unless I push the steam button several times to “get it going”. Also doesn’t seem to get very hot unless I have the temp completely maxed out. Overall not too pleased, and unfortunately the return window is now past.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This iron is awesome! It gives an easy to use guide knob so I always use the right temp on each type of fabric. I like the blue color. The steam feature is a single puff of steam, which is pretty typical for irons, but it makes it challenging to steam anything that’s hanging. Overall, I’d highly recommend!

The Vertical Shot of Steam feature is like using a garment steamer (without purchasing a separate small appliance!). The Shot of Steam feature penetrates deep and knocks out tough wrinkles with ease. There is also a Spray Mist feature that is excellent for setting creases. The retractable cord is fabulous! So easy to store when not in use. Controls are easy to see and use. This iron also preforms well as a dry iron. I highly recommend this iron for its ease of use and excellent performance.

I hate having to set up an ironing board so if I can just use some steam and let the wrinkles fall out then that is ideal for me. This works well for that. It is a little heavy for me and the dials are a bit hard to read. Overall it is a great unit. The retractable plug is a very nice feature. No more wrapping the cord around the iron.

But, let’s get to the good stuff. This is an awesome iron. What I love about it is the steam options. Usually you just have the button that releases a little steam, but this bad boy has the option to constantly release it! “Steam Master”, indeed. The highest setting isn’t one I’ll probably ever need, but putting it on the first had one of my most difficult shirts crisp in a minute or less! Love, love, love it. There are so many perks packed into this iron, including the retractable cord. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to upgrade!

So when it came time for a new iron, we knew what we were getting. This Steammaster Steam iron was the way to go. It got our clothes wrinkle free in no time. You can steam clothes on a flat surface or something hanging up. Its great for when you need to quickly touch something up or have a whole load of laundry that needs to be steamed. It also has a retractable cord, which is great. No more getting the cord tangled up while putting it away. Overall, great steam iron, 100% recommend.

This iron is a bit heavy but it makes easier to ensure a nice crisp crease on my husband’s uniforms without having to press down too hard. It has a smooth glide over the clothes I iron. The steam settings are a great feature and help to unwrinkled my curtains without much effort. I can add 2 cups of water and last for all my ironing needs without having to refill it. The retractable cord is a plus. Overall, I am impressed and would recommend to family and friends.
