The only criticism I have relates to the remote control. The frame is rather low quality. It moves around at the lateral seams when buttons are pushed. I don't think it will come apart but that is what it feels like. Otherwise I am pleased with the television. It was easy to set up and the picture quality is quite nice. For the price, this is a great value.

The buzzing with brightness turned up is insane. If it’s past 46 it is so audible and loud in the back it’s distracting. Googling shows that this is a known issue. Unfortunately by the time I realized this the box was in the trash. It’s a bedroom tv, so keeping the brightness low is ok, but it still sucks. Stay away.

TV was great until it kept having wifi connection issues, wifi network is fine but TV keeps saying "no internet" and cant use any of the smart features. Tried factory resets, wifi resets, reconnecting to networks, everything. Huge bummer as the TV was amazing until then.

The audio keeps cutting out no matter the input (HDMI via PC or PlayStation) as well as internal apps. I’ve tried all the suggestions online to no avail. / The OS is sloooooooow. All it takes is five days of use and any OS interaction beyond volume takes a couple seconds to show a response on the screen. / If you have any sort of light behind you the screen will reflect it with precision vividness.

I recently just moved and wanted a new tb ,nothing too big but not too small this 43 inch tv was great! I was able to mount it on the wall very easily and the set up was very simple. I signed into my google account and was able to sign into my streaming apps. Very easy to use and it works very well! Great color and sound . Half the time i keep my volume on 6 and it still seems loud i turn it down to 4 lol . Highly recommend

This TV broke exactly 3 years from the date of purchase. The screen is now entirely black except for when it’s powered on when it flashes the title screen for a second. Seems to be a software issue that thousands of people have experienced upon googling this. I worked with tech-support from TCL today and they told me I’m out of luck and the warranty no longer covers it so I’ll need to just buy a new TV or call a local repairman. Won’t buy this brand again.

I love this TV and also wish it lived up to its hype. The TV was perfect the first two weeks of owning it— everything worked perfectly. After two weeks things started to change. The Bluetooth started to make weird static sounds whenever you connected it and the airplay casting stopped working. I’ve had it for over two months now and I still like the tv because the picture quality and google chromecast tv OS is great, but because of the issues it went from being the best tv to just average.

I was shopping around for a "smaller" 40-50" range and was considering Sony Bravia TVs @ the $400-$600 range and came across this. I have always gone with the "name brands" like Samsung and LG but I'll tell you, the Google TV interface on this is leaps and bounds faster and smoother with no annyoing interface lag when moving around the smart TV apps. I experienced such bad lag on my much more expensive LG that I bought a standalone Google TV Chromecast to try to alleviate. Same goes for Samsung, the UI is bogged down and slow to operate, where this TCL, is shockingly responsive and smooth, all for just over $200! Great volume and sound from the TV as well, since I do not plan to use a soundbar or otherwise with this one. Beats Insignia too in overall experience if looking for a cheaper TV.

To be honest, I am truly blown away by the picture and sound quality of this TV. I bought it on sale for $199.99! It's was honesty a steal. I bought it as a TV for my bedroom and was honestly jealous I didn't buy this for my living room. I bought a Phillips a few months back for my living room and mainly bought it for the game refresh rate. I enjoy it but nothing beats the refresh rate on this TCL.
