Description
Attract and kill the ants you see and the ones you don’t with TERRO Liquid Ant Baits. The liquid, which contains borax, is specifically designed to allow worker ants to consume the product, and survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest. Ants consume the liquid ant bait and return to the nest where they pass it around to the rest of the colony. The active ingredient in the bait slowly interferes with the ants’ digestive systems, ultimately killing them.
Since this is a bait product, you will initially see more ants as they are attracted to the liquid – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. After the bait is consumed, insect populations will begin to decline. Complete control may take up to two weeks.
For your convenience, TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are easy to use and feature a new and improved snap-off tab design – no scissors needed! To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab. Then place indoors on a flat surface near ant trails and other signs of ant activity. The more bait placements, the better. Be sure to leave the ant baits undisturbed while the ants are actively feeding on it.

Q: How long are the bait traps effective?

A: The effectiveness of the bait does not diminish over time. As long as it is still in liquid form, it can be used to eliminate the ants. While the product does not have an expiration date, we recommend replacing it if it is over two years old.

I had an infestation in February, used two gel packs. That ended, and I placed two more in the same corner. Its June and I arrived hime from vacation, the traps were attacked.

A: You need to be very careful when placing it on a rug. The new design with the twist off end is awful. Very easy for liquid to come out.

Q: How often do I need to change bait?

A: The bait station will continue working as long as there is still liquid in it. This will depend on how many ants visit.

I bought this on a whim hoping it would take care of our ant problem that we have every spring. I put the bait out and I saw a lot more ants than normal but I read the info on it and it said that it would attract them and to not interfere with them. It was basically attracting them to it and doing its job. I was really tempted to kill all the ones that I saw, but I just kinda let it do its thing. Give it a few days, then all the ants will come and take the bait back to their colony and it will kill them all. I haven’t seen any ants since I killed them as they were grabbing the bait (there was so many out it grossed me out) but I’m pretty sure they had already brought it back to their colony because I haven’t seen any others since.

These do what they say they do. For me, it has taken some time. So I recommend patience. People were claiming a couple of days. I did see an improvement in a couple of days, though I still have stragglers after a week and a half. (I also have dead piles near baseboards..yuck, and good at the same time.) The top is easy to remove if you just twist back and forth several times firmly while holding it straight up like a bottle.

If this doesn't attract them, the ants may have found another food source, be seeking a grease-based vs. sugar-based food, or be in the breeding cycle of their colony and not interested in eating.
