Easy to use

I bought this product to foam roll my calves and hamstrings as I find this awkward with a regular roller. I’m happy to say it’s much easier to use and seems effective. The knobs on the handles are treat for trigger pointing any hot spots. I like that I can use this roller while sitting in a chair so it’s great for when I’m working. It’s very easy to adjust the intensity just by pushing more or less with your arms, so you can have as firm or light massage as you want.

Awkward and hard

1 out of 5 stars
The Dude Abides - 3 years ago
As others have mentioned, it doesn't roll well and is quite hard. The contours in the stick don't really do anything to promote myofascial release as well as a round and more simple design. With the grid pattern after long term use on sweaty body parts, grossness gets in the crevices and it's nearly impossible to clean. Fun to look at but terrible in practicality.

I am a runner and every so often I get an ache or pain somewhere. Often it might hurt one place but the real issue is a tight spot somewhere else. Just a quick roll with this hand held foam roller and I can identify the spot easily! Then I work out that knot in that specific spot. Being hand held, I can bring it to races and leave it in my car for long trips. My kids have each used it at times especially my son who is a wrestler. My daughter uses it after being on her feet all day at work. We have saved ourselves many trips to the doctor not to mention helped alleviate aches and pains quickly. The bumps on the stick are perfect for helping message out the knots and pain, just make sure to watch the videos and learn how to use it correctly. It's great once you get the right technique down.

Well made but meh design

I thought I would like the little finger-like bumps on the massage stick, but in reality it makes for a rough massage experience. It still does the job, but I feel like I have to go over an area multiple times because the gaps are too big to hit all my muscles evenly in one roll. I also feel like they varied the texture just for the sake of appearance - the longer, horizontal ridges on the left and right sides of the roller pretty much do nothing and are hardly used. However, it does feel well-made with nice, plus rubberized handles and good rolling action.

Recieved this as a gift in addition to a normal foam roller. It gets the hard to reach spots on my sides and legs. As a bonus it's a great arm workout if your really put the pressure on it. I can also lay in bed and watch TV.

I bought this to rub out my calves and thighs. It caused damage in both calves. The teeth are unnecessary if it is this hard.

Going through physical therapy it was suggested that i get a foam roller for my home. My PT suggested TriggerPoint and i got this roller and what a difference this makes. I have been suffering from assorted debilitating running related injuries- piriformis, psoas. The STK roller and the TriggerPoint grid roller has been a game-changing addition to my recovery

Great for travel! The size is perfect to bring on any trip. It’s perfect for legs after a long run but also on the handle for tough areas on your back. I always need a massage after flying I think this will get me by! Great to use in place of a foam roller if you don’t have one.

I'm a regular runner and have seen them recommended in a few running sites. While walking through a store today, I picked one up and tried it out my quad. My family walked to a different aisle so I put it back. Well, guess what?! The quad I rolled is no longer sore while the other quad is still uncomfortable! I wasn't expecting it to work but there's a huge difference. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Stone Age Roller

Remember those cartoons where the cave men tried to make cars with square wheels and they bumped along awkwardly? This is what this roller feels like. The lumps on the "rolling" part of it are so large that it doesn't work well as a roller. Returning it.

The GRID STK is amazing for those hard to roll body parts, such as the tops of your thighs or back. This product is super easy to use and compact enough to leave out in common spaces without it taking up too much space.

Bought this a couple month ago. I'm a football player so I have a lot of lower body tightness. Great tool to help get the kinks out and travels easy for the away games too.

I've had this for 2 weeks and it's worked wonders on my neck, shoulder, knee and elbow pain. An added bonus is it's helped speed healing of the areas I've bruised with deep tissue massage and fascia release treatments.
