Q: How do I remove the grill for cleaning? I see a tiny screw but it's so small I don't have a tiny screwdriver? I tried using a tiny screwdriver for glasses but I can't cause the opening is so small.

A: The instruction manual for the Vornado Silver Swan has full instructions on front grill removal for cleaning. It can be found at www.vornado.com under help. Unplug the unit from the wall & use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the grill ring retaining the screw located at the six-o'clock position on the grill. Once the grill ring is loosened the front grill comes right off. Please call us at 800-234-0604 if you need further assistance.

Hard to position, rough operation

The immediate observation about the fan (beyond how heavy it is) is that it cannot be positioned to blow at an upward angle. If the fan is placed on the floor, it can only be angled up a tiny amount. It looks like it could be angled up more, but the mount solidly resists. The more serious issue is that it doesn't oscillate smoothly; in one direction it gets stuck for half a second and then makes a distracting "plink" sound and continues. I couldn't sleep while it was running.

I bought the 10" SS for my Mom. I am a vintage fan collector and have many Vornado products in my home. Mom loves the light weight, and the quiet performance of this fan.

Very pretty fan with a fair amount of power. On setting 1 or 2 it’s very quiet, 3 is noticeable but pleasant. In combination with my other Vornado we’re making it through the summer.

I will always order fans and heaters from Vornado - no question. The one thing I don’t like about this fan is that it doesn’t have Vornado’s circulation technology (or I don’t think it does), and you can tell the difference (but that’s my fault for not looking at that). That said, I cranked the fan up to high and had it oscillate, and the fan gets the job done. If you need a very strong fan, this one may not be the best choice from Vornado, but it sure is pretty! The Pivot fans are the best that I’ve bought in terms of power…. Thanks Vornado for another awesome fan!

Despite its handsome appearance and wind-power, I do not recommend this model. It makes a high-pitched, irriitating "hum" that does not quit. It is incredibly annoying and I do not use it. I wish I could return it!

The looks of it is this retro style fan. It’s the kinda fan you don’t mind displaying bcuz it is aesthetically pleasing. Only problem: It was great until it just stopped working. I had to return it luckily it was still within the return date. So disappointed. I loved that fan.

Fan is fine - not great - and not what vornado used to produce. So disappointing to see so many great companies and businesses move to incredibly cheap alternative materials. The quality is just no longer there. Definitely will move on to another higher end producer.

This fan is great! Looks vintage and very heavy duty. It’s steel blades so gives lots of air. I am using it for a small guest room. It it quiet enough to sound like white noise, which can be nice for sleeping.

This is my 4th Vornado Fan, Excellent build and even better style. Moves a ton of air and I don't regret one bit the purchase. These fans are not as cheap as the plastic ones but you are buying a quality unit. Sturdy and made of metal. It is quiet and kinda easy to clean. The only nitpick I would have is that it doesn't point too high but maybe because of the oscillating feature, (needs some mechanical room and limitations inside)

This is an all around great fan. It moves a lot of air and it is fairly quiet for an all metal fan. We enjoy the retro style. We have five Vornado fans now, four different styles, and they all work great.
