Worse purchase made, the watch stopped working within 4 months not accepting the SIM card, customer service/support is only via email and it takes weeks for them to respond and they will not resolve your issue. Do not purchase this watch

This watch stops working after a few weeks, there's very little customer support from the company.
1 reply from Xplora Technologies Inc team - 1 year ago
If the watch stopped turning on, we recommend leaving the device charging for at least 30 minutes and then pressing the ON/OFF button for at least 30 seconds to make a reset. You may also try connecting the charger to a wall socket or charge it using other chargers. If you continue experiencing issues, our customer support team will assist you in getting a replacement watch.

I love the concept of the watch in that it gives me the ability to communicate with and keep tabs on my 9-year-old. He is too young for an Apple Watch or phone. However, this watch is incredibly unreliable and only works part of the time. It often won't refresh his location and i'll get notifications that he left a safety zone hours after he left. When we try to call each other, it will sometimes not go through. If there was truly an emergency, I couldn't rely on this watch and this is entirely the point. I'm pretty disappointed given the cost. The last thing that i will point out is that the construction is also poor. Given this is for children, it should be sturdier to withstand play. The band is constantly breaking.

Sim cards keep coming loose

Xplora no more - 1 year ago
I bought two of these watches (blue, orange) for my kids to use. Upon set up, the sim cards came loose when they were inside of the watch but because we were excited to be able to have more peace of mind - we assumed it was a one time thing. The watches worked great and when the sim card came loose, we just opened up the sim storage and re-installed it. Mind you... this began the end of July 2023. It is now September and now the sim cards are not being read by the watch anymore. I did contact the company and they were not able to problem solve the issue. Save yourself headache, and do NOT buy this watch for your kids. It was a wonderful product when it did work.

It's disappointing that the SIM card issues persisted making it impossible to use the watches. It appears that both watches may have a defect, and we recommend contacting our customer support to arrange replacements for both. Hope you can get this sorted soon!

This is such a waste of money. It doesn't work half the time my son has had it for less than a week and it's only worked twice. It always reads no SIM. Do yourself a favor and save your money. GPS is never accurate. The battery life doesn't last very long. DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH! This item is not eligible for return either so it's a big waste of money. They also have you sign up under a contract for service for the watch so it doesn't work yet I'm paying for it.

We're truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with the watch. The "No SIM-card" error can likely be the root cause of the other issues you're facing. Please consider reaching out to our support team via the contact form on our website, they'll be able to assist you in troubleshooting and finding a satisfactory solution :)

This smartwatch is perfect for my 10 year old daughter. As I do not want to buy her a cellphone yet. I can call her or she can call me. It comes in handy when am picking her up from school. I can also send her messages, although what she can reply is limited as it does not have a keyboard. She can select from emojis or preset responses.

I received this watch for my opinion on hey bullseye and I must say that my daughter was very excited even though at first she thought it was a bit big for her hand but she says that it is comfortable and it adapts very well in terms of important functions that only she can call pre-defined contacts, there is a school mode and you can call for help in a real emergency with the push of a button. Short voice messages can also be sent from both sides (watch and Xplora app). I have to say that these messages can only be sent from the Xplora app. We have classic mom and dad as administrators in the Xplora app, but of course grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunt, etc. they could also use this app. But ATTENTION, only the two parents can be administrators with the Xplora application. This makes me feel more confident that my daughter could ask for help. All other contacts can call you and send you an SMS, but the watch itself does not send an SMS. Then she can call her phone number without the app, that is, all the predefined contacts on the watch, but only outside of school mode. After making a call, the manager receives a message via the Xplora app that a call has been made, including the duration. With the steps of the child, so-called coins can be collected. At first you could use these coins like this. Meanwhile, you can bid on toys with the coins through a paid subscription. There are also various challenges where you "acquire" your coins with activity. And she can take beautiful photos and activate her creativity with them. It is a good option to keep your daughter safe if they have to walk to school with GPS activation.

Perfect smart watch for kids too young for a phone
4 out of 5 stars
Chigirl830 - 2 years ago
A basic smart watch with limited capabilities but enough fun for my 7 year old. Setup was a little tricky but I figured it all out. Phone calls are easy but texting is limited to the few available preset phrases like "love you!", "call me", "I'm fine", etc. No keyboard to type their own messages. Some basic emojis too. Very sweet when I get a random notification from my little one 😊 There's a step counter that seems pretty accurate and games they can play when they earn coins. Overall a great option to keep in contact with your child while they're not with you and has fun features for them.

I got this for my 11 year old. She loves that she can text without having to be tethered to her phone, same with calls. The service isn't too expensive but if you want to add the unique watch faces, features and games that they definitely want, it's another $3 a month for premium service. Not too bad. I like the gps feature as well. When I want her to be able to communicate but not really have the phone to lose or break, this is an excellent alternative. She has been using it since she got it except while it's charging. She will be very sad if we end the service!

It should be said that I have not been able to locate the watch from the opening to now, and every time I get the position, it is always prompted that it cannot work or the watch has no network, but the fact is that the watch is normal, I tried sos, which sent me a positioning, but the location is a whole street away
1 reply from Xplora Technologies Inc team - 2 years ago
As long as the watch receives sufficient coverage and uses data, GPS updates should be possible. Restarting the watch can also help. Hope you can soon get your watch to work :)
The Pros outweighs the Cons

Overall my daughter (8 yrs) and I love the watch. Although I do think that there are a few cons I will likely (unless we find another watch with the same pros and a solution to our cons) be purchasing it for my son when he is old enough. This is the perfect fit for a young child so a parent can contact them if needed or vice versa but not need to worry about all the things they would have access to if given an actual phone. Pros: * You can only call pre set numbers that you assign in the app. * If someone adds the watch to their app it alerts you and requires your permission to be added. * Monthly fee is very low cost ($11.99 month to month, $9.99 1 yr, $7.99 2yrs). * My daughter has very thin arms (we usually have to make adjustments for things to fit properly, but the adjustable watch fits great). * Customer service staff have been very helpful and respond quickly. * Long battery life. We have been needing to charge every 3 days or so. * Good cell service. We have not run into an issue of not having cell service. I will update as we travel if we find this no longer to be true. * Not too distracting. Because the watch has minimal features it is not much of a distraction. There is also school mode which doesn’t allow for the watch to be used at all, but we have found that with minimal contacts and features it has been ok for us to have it in use during school. Cons: * Because you can only call contacts there is no option to dial emergency services if needed. Our loophole was to add the direct line to our local police department as a contact. *You can only text using 10 preset texts. (I know the watch is small which would make it hard to write long messages but it would still be nice to have the option. You are able to send voice messages and a suggestion my daughters bff gave was to write a note and take/send a picture of the note we have yet to try that to see if that would be legible and work) * Guardian can not monitor text messages with others via app. (I wish all user activity would also show up on the guardians app so text messages could also be monitored in real time) * We had an issue twice that the watch randomly showed “No SIM” and was not able to be used. This happened while my daughter was at school and she could not fix it on her own which was concerning and another time while at home). We restarted the watch the first time and the problem resolved until it happened again several days later. I contacted customer service and they rebooted the watch and it has yet to happen again.

This is a great device. At first glance it looks sleek and small enough to fit my. 10 year olds wrist. Once it was time to setup there was a bit of a learning curve but it went smoothly once i figured out how to work the controls on the watch. So far, the watch has been working as expected. It tells time for my child easily and clearly and also has a great screen. I would highly recommend to a parent looking for a wearable device.

The Xplora XGO3 smartwatch is for children. The watch has a tiny 1" screen, roughly the size of a postage stamp, with a large black bezel. It is lightweight and has a smaller-than-average wristband that is ideal for children. It also included haptic feedback for button presses. It contains a few pre-loaded apps most smartwatches offer, including a phone, camera, chat, photos, step counter, stopwatch, and alarm. From the Xplora app (on an adult's phone), you can add new ringtones and watch faces to the watch. The watch requires a SIM card and paid cellular subscription to make it functional. It runs on 4G LTE and requires a monthly subscription. Although it is significantly less than a smartphone plan, the cost is enough to consider if this is the right product for your child. The core function of this product is to make calls to family, but the functionality is otherwise barebones. I could see a child using this to phone a guardian to pick them up after school or a sports practice. It is more functional than fun. The ideal customer for this watch is a child too young for a smartphone or smartwatch but needs to be connected when away from parents. Xplora is a closed system and lacks integration with iOS or Android systems. This watch can only be managed within the Xplora app, including any GPS tracking or maps. I'd recommend this for children between 5-12, as any older than that, they'd get more functionality from a cheaper cell phone with a pre-paid cellular plan.

This is a very nice GSP Smartwatch that I think every parent should have for your kids. The watch is beautiful designed! Very sleek and looks sturdy. It doesn’t take long for me to go through the set up process! It’s very much straight forward from start to finish. The watch’s interface is very simple, clean and easy to navigate around. The watch comes fully equipped with a SIM Card. You can activate the SIM according to the payment plans option during the activation process. The plans are very affordable or you can sign up for the Pay As You Go that I think is very easy and quite convenient to use. This GPS Smartwatch allows me to keep track of my kid whereabouts and to ensure that the kid is safe and sound. The watch has it own number which allows me to call and check on my kid. There are so many features that comes with the watch like WIFI, camera, etc that I think the kid would love to explore. Thank you Xplora for making this XGO3 Your Child’s first GPS Smartwatch that will keep the kids entertained, safe and well informed.

This is the best kids' smartwatch out there after doing a lot of research. I bought this watch as a gift for my best friend's 7-year-old daughter. My friend cannot stop telling me how happy she is that she can keep in touch with her daughter all day through the smartwatch and her cell phone. Her daughter wears the watch all the time. There is no social media or internet access, and it comes with a GPS. I am proud to be one of the pre-approved contacts on the smartwatch and I can call her using the phone number that comes with the smart watch. Highly recommended!!

We bought two watches for our twin grandchildren as birthday gifts. They absolutely love the watches. They wear them every day. Their mom added our contact information to the watch as pre-approved contacts. They call and message us all the time. We are able to keep an eye on them with the GPS tracker. We set up alarms on the watches for them to wake up and brush their teeth. They have fun keeping track of their steps. Highly recommended!
