Q: Will you guarantee this carafe will not drip all over the counter?

submitted by Katarina13 - 3 years ago
  • A: I've had my Cuisinart for several years and it is now leaking big time. Apprehensive about getting this same model.

submitted by - 8 months ago
  • A: Hi Katarina, the Cuisinart 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker's easy-pour carafe is drip free and has a smooth pour.

  • A: Yes, within 6-12 months, you'll find this coffeemaker will leak --clear water, not coffee--all over the place. Once it's leaked one time, it'll leak forever after. Very sad.

submitted byCT Griff - 2 years ago
  • A: I've had mine for 3 years and am buying a replacement today. I've never had a leak problem

Q: Does it use cone filters ?

submitted by JOY - 5 years ago
  • A: the description says it has a permanent mesh filter so you don't need to buy filters and it reduces trash.

submitted bytarale - 3 years ago
  • A: It comes with the mesh filter, but it is very difficult to clean all the grounds out of it. I prefer the paper filters, which you use in place of the mesh.

submitted byJane - 2 years ago
  • A: I just use the mesh filter, most of the grounds come out in the trash and I rinse it daily anyway.

submitted byLpooleSC - 10 months ago
  • A: Yes, #4! They sell them at Target too by Market Pantry.

submitted byC - 5 years ago

Q: Does the Cuisinart Stainless Carafe fit this model?

submitted by Jjj - 11 months ago
  • A: We have owned both types of Cuisinart makers, ones with glass & ones with stainless carafes. My understanding is that on the units that come with stainless, the warmer plate does not heat the pot. With the glass models, the warmer plate is very hot & keeps the coffee at a nice temperature, which can be adjusted also. I feel that substituting a SS carafe on this unit would would be way too hot to the touch. Stick with the carafe style that comes with the unit.

Q: does the lid only snap on/off? can it not simple be lifted on a hinge by pressing with your thumb? if lacking, seems like a huge design flaw for a $100 machine.

submitted by JKM - 3 years ago
  • A: Just used this coffee maker for the very first time and was very disappointed to find that the lid on the coffee pot does not flip!!! So every time you want to clean the carafe or use it to fill and pour water into machine you have to snap and unsnap the lid!!! DEAL BREAKER . I don’t want you to have to deal with fitting the lid all the time & I can see how pulling the lid off and on that often will snap the plastic snap part. It’s going back tomorrow! I thought I searched and researched everything but honestly, who would have thought of this flaw!?!?!? Disappointed to say the least!!!

submitted byGrandmother - 9 months ago
  • A: The Cuisinart 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker's lid snap on and off to keep the lid secure. It allows for ease of cleaning and maintenance.

Love this coffeemaker! Easy to program, makes excellent coffee and best of all, keeps it hot. Other coffeemakers I’ve had just don’t brew hot enough for my liking, but this one allows you to choose a brew temp. This is an attractive coffeemaker that preforms very well. I’d definitely recommend it!

    Good and bad

We bought this based on a positive review in consumer reports. It replaced a Mr Coffee thermal coffeemaker where the carafe started leaking. The coffee taste is very good. That’s its primary function and no complaints there. But, we were used to having the water reservoir removable for easy filling. This coffeemaker has easy filling only if you are right-handed which one of my household is not. Secondly, the brew time is very slow. If you have a routine schedule, no problem because you can program it to start at a certain time. If not, be prepared to wait for your coffee

    Stupid Carafe

I bought this coffeemaker a couple of weeks ago. Immediately, a major flaw surfaced. Seems that it’s EXTREMELY difficult to pour water from the carafe into the water well to get heated. I’ve tried left and right handed and invariably, I spill some trying to fully empty the carafe. Can not believe that this was fully product tested by others.

This is actually my third unit in ten years. So I guess they don't last forever but the fact that I keep replacing the worn out ones with the same one says a lot. This is a terrific coffee maker - it makes a lot when you need more, it's programable (wouldn't be without that feature), it keeps the coffee at whatever temp you prefer (super hot here), you can turn the tone off, and resetting is so easy even my Neanderthal husband can do it! I highly recommend this product to anyone who finds these features a plus.

This replaces the 12 cup Cuisinart coffee maker we used for the past 5+ years. The pot is larger, the other was white and showed coffee dribbles while this one is stainless steel and dark brown. Looks nice. The blue LED info display is bright enough to give the kitchen a glow on dark nights. Good results with the brew of Folgers Classic. Uses less coffee than the old one for the same strength. Very Happy

Carafe leaks no matter how fast or slow you pour the coffee (and the water when you fill up the tank). We got a new carafe and, while it’s better, still leak every single time we make coffee. The older version we had before was much better.

I bought this product about a month ago. I looks sharp, has all the necessary settings, and makes coffee. But compared to previous models I have had over the last 25 years I find the fit and finish inferior. This is especially true of the carafe. The plastic seal on the opening does captures liquid. When the carafe is washed that liquid continues to drain back into and to the outside of the carafe. It makes drying the carafe unnecessarily tedious and often leaves coffee stains on the inside of the carafe. I seriously doubt I will buy another.
